Cover for How to Generate and Earn Royalty Income

The First Ten Focus Group Feedback for How to Generate and Earn Royalty Income: From casual side income to a new investment category

Because How to Generate and Earn Royalty Income was Book of the Day, some of our most trusted members have carefully looked over the cover, the description, and other aspects of this book as a part of purchase-intent focus group. We then asked each participant in the focus group if they planned to buy and read the book, and why they planned to buy and read the book or not. Their answer to that question and reasons are displayed below. We call this awesome feature The First Ten Focus Group.

Keep in mind, the responses from the members are not reviews. This is purchase-intent focus group which means the participants are people who have NOT yet bought or read your book. A purchase-intent focus group is an important and extremely useful marketing tool for any product, not just books. For other products, you might walk on the street and show people an item in a package and poll them about whether they would buy if or $X or not. These kind of focus groups are one of the ways big marketing companies find the ideal price points for products and test the effectiveness of different packaging. The focus group can help you identify your market so you how to target ads of your book, and it can (but may not) provide you new useful info about your "packaging" (e.g. your book cover, your book synopsis on Amazon, etc.). The point of the focus group comments is to give you information from people who have not bought or read your book about why they plan to buy your book which will help you in marketing the book. These are not reviews or critiques of your book because they are not from people have read the book. This is a marketing tool, not reviews. The trick of book marketing and book advertising is that you have to convince people who have not read your book yet that your book is worth buying and reading. For marketing, it doesn't matter much if people love your book after reading it if you cannot convince potential buyers before they read it that they will love it.

IMPORTANT: Any score over 10% is considered very good. And any score above 0% is acceptable. This is because we only poll about 20 or so readers, and all readers have to say "no" to almost all books. Over a million books are published each year. Even a very active reader cannot come close to even reading 1% of books out there.

This is also why publishing books is such a tough industry.

The book offers a detailed analysis of how to earn royalty income through intellectual property rights. It's quite helpful, but I wouldn't have read the book as I don't have any use of the main subject. I did like sampling it, though. The thing I liked the most is how detailed the book really is. The author has clearly explained the importance of royalty and the concepts of licensor and licensee. I consider the book is a highly useful read for those actually interested in earning royalty income. Another great thing is the editing is super clean. I didn't find a single error in the portion I sampled. So, I would rate the book as professionally edited. I'll not read the whole book as I don't have use for it, and I don't have interest in earning through royalty income. However, it would be an informational read for anyone who owns an intellectual property. I did see an official review before sampling. I don't have any other recommendations to make for improvements.

I wouldn't have sampled this without the programme as it seems to concern quite a narrow niche. Having sampled the book and seen the helpful OBC review, I will buy a copy today because I am looking to invest. I noticed some awkward sentences and one error: "Any firm or intellectual property owner who wishes to negotiate appropriate royalty payments need to arm themselves with the information provided in this book", which should read "... needs to arm themselves ..." to agree with the subject. I appreciated learning that royalties were a safer investment than other asset classes. The manual could be improved if examples were included. For instance, the author mentions that income tax deductibility might affect the licensor or licensee. I had to read that a couple of times to understand it - an example would have made it so much clearer.

The title indicates what the book is about. The cover looks good. There is only one Amazon customer rating, which is not a sufficient number to decide if I should sample the book or not. The Amazon summary is really short, but conveys what the book is about. Based on the Amazon summary, I would have sampled the book even if not for the First Ten program, as I am interested in knowing about creating royalty income. As I sampled through the book, I found the narration describing why intellectual property needs to be protected for economic value, how the concept of royalty helps in this matter, and how the royalty gets paid. As I am very interested in this topic, I am going to read this book in full. I found the sample professionally edited. There were no grammatical or mechanical errors in the sample. What I liked most about the book is its theme about royalty. I could not find anything that can be improved with the book. Although I found one OBC review of the book, my decision to read the book in full is based on my own sampling.

Based on the genre and title, I wouldn't have sampled the book because it didn't appeal to me. I read the official review and sampled the book. I liked that the author discussed the advantages of royalty payments and explained why royalties tend to be better than shares. The book appeared professionally edited and I did not see any areas that need improving. I won't be reading the rest of the book because the overall content isn't for me.

The cover art seems to convey a sense of optimistic approachability, so I think it succeeds in attracting a broad range of potential buyers. The Amazon product description is brief but straightforward. I liked that it was quickly stated in the book how "royalty payments are negotiable, redeemable, and convertible." Quick mention of accredited investors, inflationary periods, discretionary payments, registered securities, and economic gains might dissuade the average layperson from reading further, but all of the information seems to be well categorized and explained in the simplest terms possible. This book appears to have been professionally edited. The one published OBC review is primarily positive but offers an honest critique. The 1 currently posted Amazon user rating provides a similarly lukewarm impression. While the idea of receiving royalty income offers quite an appealing avenue of potentially profitable thought, I don't feel that intellectual property rights and royalty payments among copyrighted and patented materials for different industries is a topic I'm interested in at this time. For readers who do have an invested interest in such topics, this title seems to provide quite the comprehensive overview of potentially profitable categories!

I would not have sampled this book based on the genre, blurb, OBC review, cover, and title. I don’t usually like non-fiction books, and I don’t have a reason to read a book on how to get royalties for artwork. After reading the first ten pages, I won’t be finishing this book. I liked how organized it was. It started off with an introduction on why royalties were even important. Then it brought up the advantages of royalties over shares. Then it started defining royalties and getting to the purpose of the book: how to make royalties. However, I don’t need or want to make royalties for anything, so I really don’t have a reason to keep reading. The book did seem to be professionally edited.

I would not have chosen to read this book based on the title, cover and genre, as the title of the book is quite self explanatory, and I think this book would be helpful in a situation where someone has an intellectual asset that they need to earn income from. The official OnlineBookClub review confirmed the same for me. When I started sampling the book, I really liked reading the short, crisp and to-the-point chapters. The author does seem really knowledgeable and has done her research well. This book will be immensely helpful for someone who needs guidance with this particular process. However, as of now, it's not really of much use to me. I will not continue reading this book. The sample was well edited and did not contain any grammatical errors.

The cover and title did not interest me because I am not in need of learning how to generate royalty earnings. The description shows that it would be better suited for someone who is interested in earning royalties for their project. After reading the first ten pages, I am most impressed with the author's easily understood writing style. I was able to follow along without having any prior knowledge of this subject. I will not be reading this book further because I have no need for learning how to generate royalty earnings on anything. The OBC review did not have any impact on my decision to not read this book. There is nothing I would improve and it seemed to be professionally edited.

If I had not read the sample, I would not have read the book as I did not think it was my genre. After reading the sample, I have not changed my mind. . I appreciate the overview, which made the "why this book was written" and "what it will be about" questions easy to understand right off the bat. However, I ultimately do not see how this applies to my life. I think some more creative formmatting such as for the definition of "royalties" or "royalty licensor," even if it is just bolded text, could also help direct the eye better. It was professionally edited.

Before sampling this book, I would not have picked it up. I don't have any sort of intellectual property that I would need to make a profit off of, and the errors mentioned in the OBC review are a turnoff for me. My initial impression was that the book read like a textbook, very dry. I also think it would be helpful if the author had introduced a glossary at the beginning of some of the terms that were discussed in section 1.2, to help true beginner. For example, what is a registered security? What are discretionary payments? It looks like this book encompasses a lot of information for someone who already understands the business, but I just found myself confused. I don't plan to read the book. I didn't notice any errors in the pages I read.

As a musician, I understand the importance of royalty and intellectual property. Reading the blurb and review for this book got me interested in it. Although the review stated that the book lacks anecdotes to add a personal touch to it, I didn't mind it. Reading the sample, I found the book to be insightful. I think this will be a great tool for anyone who's passion is to create things whether through art or science. The book appears to be well-edited as far as the sample goes. I may not read it today but this may come in handy someday so I'm going to buy it.

Although this book holds no interest for me, I did read the first ten pages and found that it was very well written, but not very entertaining. The cover was very friendly. The blurb was short and to the point. The review mentioned that there were not enough personal stories in the book, and I agree with that assessement. I did not see any errors in the pages that I read. I will not finish reading the book. I think that the author should work on making the story less factual.

I don't like self -help books, and therefore, I wouldn't sample this one. The first ten pages didn't catch my attention, and I will not buy or read it. There are no errors and I can tell this book is professionally edited. There are multiple chapters in the book which I like. I don't quite understand the terms of royalty income, but the author did a good job at explaining what that is. I would put some photos and diagrams in the book for better experience. This book has the official review.

The author is very technical and explains exactly what royalties are and why they are better than shares. I like how she explained how Microsoft earns revenue from other computer companies that use their software. That was a good example. The editing looks pristine without errors. The reviewer said the book is brief and I also like that. I’m not really able to invest time in creating intellectual property at this time, but I’m interested in the subject and will add the book to my list for future reading. I would not have found this book outside of the program. I have no suggestions for improvements.

Based on the cover, title and the official review of this book, I would have read the book. This is because I am always open to lessons on how to earn extra income. The cover with a girl playing guitar adds a soft touch that makes the book appear warm and inviting. I would love to buy and read the book. Reading the first pages gave me the impression that the book may be helpful as it is straightforward. It does not have unnecessary illustrations.

Based on the first ten pages, the book seems like it was professionally edited as I found no errors. What I liked most about the book is the way the writer has explained the business terms and the importance of royalties.

The cover is decent. The synopsis gives us a general introduction to this book. The sample starts with describing what royalty payments are. Next, the book explains why royalty payments are important. It then gives us the definition of royalties and then explains the different types of royalties. Well, this was pretty monotonous and the closest thing to a dull textbook I have ever seen. So, I am not going to buy and read this book as I am not interested in dull monotonous books about royalty income. I prefer reading fast-paced mystery thrillers. No typos were found in the first ten pages. I fond nothing to improve in the first ten pages. The Official Review is present, and the reviewer recommends this book to "anyone interested in knowing how to generate an income through royalty," which I am not.

I wouldn't have sampled this book based on its title because I'm not interested in any business related to royalties. Since I don't intend to invest in any intellectual property, I won't finish reading it. I like that the author educates the owners of different intellectual properties on how to protect their products and avoid losses. Since this isn't the kind of book that would interest me, I have no improvement suggestions. I didn't find any grammatical errors while reading. This book has an official OBC review.

The cover of this book seems incongruous with the title and subject matter. I would not have sampled this without the First Ten program because I do not read non-fiction. I liked how the author explained what royalties are and that she used real-life examples like Microsoft and IBM. The OBC review was favorable. The reviewer took off one star for editing issues, but I did not notice any. Unfortunately, the subject of this book does not interest me enough to make me commit to reading the rest. I do not have any suggestions for the author.

It was quite clear from the cover and the title that this is a self-help book to generate and earn royalty income. Therefore, I considered reading the official review of this book before buying because I wanted to know about the takeaways from this book. The official review was helpful to know that this book explains the myths and misconceptions about royalty. We can receive royalty income, even if we didn't initially own any intellectual property. This idea piqued my interest to sample the book. After reading the first ten pages, I found that this book was professionally edited as I did not notice any grammatical or typing errors. The thing l liked the most in this book is a nice explanation about royalty money. However, the sample gave me only generalized information about royalty, which is freely available on the internet. I could not figure out any unique idea, which this book could offer to me. My suggestion to the author is to consider the shortcomings of this book, as mentioned in the above sentence. I encourage the author to give some hint in the sample about how this book can be helpful. Considering all these facts, I decided not to purchase and read this book today but wait until the author could help by addressing my suggestion so that reading can be rewarding for me.

I would have chosen How to Generate and Earn Royalty Income by Marina Peters based on the title and cover illustration because they are interesting. After reading the First Ten, I realized that it is a book that explais what Royalty income is, giving indepth information on the subject. The First Ten influenced my decision on reading the entire book hence I will be reading it because I wish to learn more on generating Royalty income. I did not come across any errors and did not see anything to improve. I most like that the book is greatly organised and presented, giving it the ability to hold attention of even the most disinterested of readers. I came across the official review by Sam Ibeh and I learnt that the book is very informative despite lacking a personal touch. The review also influenced my decision about reading the entire book.

This is a self-help business/finance book about how to earn more income from a property that you can license. I would not have read this book based on the cover, the title, or the genre, as I am not interested in business books. I will not read this book, as it was boring and irrelevant to me. I found no objective errors in the samle I read, so this book has been professionally edited. What I liked most about this book was that it had plenty of financial details and the writer accurately defined the meaning of a royalty in a business context. To improve, the book should become more interesting and the author should add some more excitement and tension to the text. This book had an Official OnlineBookClub review, which did not affect my decision.

I would not have chosen to sample this book based on the title. The first ten pages read like a study guide. The author chose to write in a very factual manner, which for me came across as a little boring. I always prefer reading a book with a little personality rather than just listed factual information. On the other hand it will be very useful for someone who just wants know how to earn royalties and who wants to get to the point fast. The official OnlineBookClub review seemed to share my sentiment. The book does appear to be professionally edited. I will not be adding this book to my reading list. I have no recommendations for improvements.

Based on the book's title and cover, I would not have read it because I am not interested in the subject matter. Also, I would not read the rest of it because I am not part of its target audience, as the content is geared towards musicians and others who want to earn royalty income. I believe the book has been professionally edited, as I found no errors in the first ten pages. The one thing I liked most was the author's clear writing because it made it easier to understand the concepts discussed in the book. Consequently, I couldn't possibly suggest any improvements at this stage. I did read an Official OnlineBookClub review that I think presented the book very well.

After having read the OBC reviewer’s very positive comments about this book, I was interested to sample it. Investing, in general, has become more interesting to me of late, and I was intrigued by this different way to generate extra income. I wasn’t very encouraged by the cover illustration, though. It’s not the type of picture that inspires confidence in the credibility of the material within, and looks more like a Pinterest cover page. I would really suggest changing it to increase overall impact of the book. The writing was factual and clear, if a bit ‘dry’ as commented on by the reviewer. I did enjoy the points outlined as to why royalty income is often preferable to stock market investing, and I found these very useful. I noted one error only in the phrase, “Any firm or intellectual property owner who wishes to negotiate appropriate royalty payments need to...” where the correct word is “needs” to make sense. I like this book, and definitely think I would read the whole thing to get a better idea about the viability of royalty investing for myself.

The cover and the title together convey the book's intents perfectly. The official OBC review that rates the book 3 stars mentions its brevity. Based on the review, I felt this would be a professional book and I would have read it. The first ten pages were without editing issues. The author started the book without preamble, and clearly explained what the importance of royalty income is. She explained the terms 'licensor' and 'licensee,' as well as described the pros of having royalty incomes using bullet points. The writing was succinct. I don't have any suggestions for improvement. I would read the book based on its contents and delivery.

I would not have chosen this book based on its title, cover, and description. I don't need to know about royalty income because I have no intellectual property to monetize, but it is a good chunk of knowledge. The official review emphasized the author's straightforward, informative tone throughout the novel, which I find appealing and professional. The reviewer, however, also commented on the lack of personality due to the author's detached nature. I like books that have more life and personality in regards to their writing style. After sampling, I decided that I will not buy and read this book. I simply have no use for it, but it could be a good read for someone else. There is very heavy business-type jargon that confused me while reading. You have to be significantly interested in royalties to get into the novel. It was very well-written with a good structure that included questions about royalty payments, definitions, and answers. This is easily searchable if someone needs to find something specific. I wish the author had a softer, more welcoming tone and provided more personal anecdotes to open though. I found no errors or typos. This book seems well-edited.

After reading the sample, I've noticed that this book is very valuable. I could have bought this book because of my love for books breaming with vital information like this one. The cover page made me think that the book was about music. I think the author should consider designing a new cover page; because if I were only concentrating on the cover, I could have not bought it. The book’s title was attractive and relevant. The book’s description on the Amazon website was okay; it was succinct and informative enough to allow for an accurate guess of what the book is all about. The book also had an official OnlineBookClub review, which gave an insight into what the book is all about. I didn’t find any errors in the sample, and I think that the book was professionally edited. One gets to understand royalty and its advantages. She also gives the types of royalty agreements among others. After reading the sample and the OnlineBookClub review, I’m going to finish reading this book, because I’m a fan of this genre.

How to Generate and Earn Royalty Income by Marina Peters is a resourceful book for business persons. The author begins by explaining what royalty is and its merits. Marina also elucidates the various types of royalties. What I loved most about this book is the simplicity of the language used. It is straightforward and apprehensive. A professional editor must have proofread this book as I never noticed any grammatical errors (in the pages I sampled). The review in the OBC augmented my desire to read it (I would have read it without sampling the book). As an entrepreneur, I’ll be buying this book to better my understanding of royalty.

Whether I had sampled the book or not, I don't think the information inside would of changed my mind about not reading this book. Royalty incomes do not apply to me at this moment and I am therefore not interested in learning more about how to claim it. However, after reading the first 10, I can understand how someone who is looking for this kind of help would appreciate this book, as it is straightforward and informative. It seems that it was professionally edited as I did not encounter a single error in my read. What I liked most is that the information is clear and easy-to-follow for someone who has no experience with royalties. I did find an Online Book Review on it and I agree that the author should include more personal experiences to enhance her credibility of her knowledge in the book.

After reading the blurb, I wouldn't pick this book up because I don't really read non-fiction or self-help books and I'm also not looking to earn income from royalties, so I'm not the target audience for this book. After reading the first ten pages, I spotted a few minor errors and missing commas. In the introduction, "If royalty payment is made to another party..." the word "a" should be added and say "If a royalty payment...." Also, "Licensor gets its benefits..." it should say "A licensor gets its benefits...." What I liked best about the book so far was the simple writing style and direct language. Normally I like it when an author uses more complex words and sentences to describe situations because I like it when a piece of writing flows well like poetry. However, since this is an informational book explaining how royalties work and what a person can do to earn royalty payments, I think the simple language is great because it makes it easy to understand and learn how the process works. My only suggestion for improvement is to clear up the errors. There was an onlinebookclub review, but I'm not the target audience for this so I won't be reading the rest.

At first look, the book cover seems out of place with the book's title. When you think and relate the two, that's when the meaning becomes more evident. I would have preferred seeing a heap of money for this kind of book on the cover. I read the Official OBC review and read the first few sample pages, and the book seems well-edited. But I don't want to buy this book. This book seems like a practical guide for someone looking to earn royalties now. I am not looking for this right now. Maybe if the author had included some illustrative real-life examples or proofs regarding the earnings, it would have made the book more appealing.

I would have read the sample of How to Generate and Earn Royalty Income even if it was not the book of the day. The cover is not as attention grabbing as it could be, but I do like the picture of the girl holding the guitar. I think that the white background could be changed to some other color that is more flashy. I also enjoyed that the book was straight forward; there is no frills about it and it is clear that the author did her research. I did not see any grammatical errors in the sample at all, but the official OnlineBookClub review does state that there are a couple within the book. I will likely read this book, after reading both the sample and the review. It seems to be well constructed, and knowledge about financial gain is something that I am a fan of. Those that are not interested in this topic, however, should skip it as they may not find it to be very enjoyable.

If I had not been a member of this program, it is exceptionally unlikely that the cover, title, genre, or author of this book would have prompted me to pick it up. Although the cover is attractive in a homey sort of way, the title says it all. Royalty income is not a subject area that applies to my life. In addition, I believe this might qualify as a self-help book, which is not a genre I generally read. The author is unknown to me, so that would not have affected my decision. The blurb, though short, emphasizes that the contents of the book focus solely on royalty income. Again, this is not an area of which I have need. There was one customer review, which was midrange - neither positive nor negative. This was somewhat unhelpful. I did not see a review from this program, but if I had, I would have been interested in what the reviewer had to say. Reading the sample was much like I expected. I was pleased that the information concerning licensor and licensee rights, responsibilities, and procedures was given in such a concise manner. It made the informational reading much easier. Still, the fact remained that learning about royalty income is not something that I need at present. Thus, I made the decision not to continue reading. The book seemed well-edited. I found no countable errors in the sample.

Considering the book's title and official OnlineBookClub review, I wouldn't buy and read this book. I am not interested in generating royalty income. After I sampled the book's first ten pages, my decision remains unchanged. I appreciate this book for its straightforward writing, but it is not written for someone like me. What I liked the most about the book is its conciseness. It's straight to the point and does not add unnecessary information. I specifically liked the section "Why are royalty payments important?" The book seems professionally edited; I didn't notice any errors. I don't think there is anything I can suggest to improve this book.

From the cover, blurb, and review of this book, I wouldn’t have read it. I don't have any works that I'd be seeking royalties for and therefore wouldn't find this book useful. After reading the first ten pages I didn’t change my mind and therefore will not be buying and reading the rest of this book. I liked and enjoyed how the importance of royalties was made very clear early on in bullet format, easily digestible by the reader. That being said, I'm just not the target audience for this book. I didn’t see anything specific that I would have wanted to change within the sample that I read, but it did seem well written and edited. The official review did not affect my decision at all.

From the cover this looks to be a book about getting royalties for music or songwriters. Since I am not a musician, I would not have picked this book up based on the cover alone. I haven’t read a customer review of this book. I read an Online Book Club review of the book and it was complementary about the information provided. It gave the book a rating of 3 out of 4 stars and said it contained grammatical errors. I didn’t see any errors in the first ten pages, but I don’t believe it was professionally edited based on the OBC review. I didn’t see any area that the author could improve upon except to have it edited to remove the errors noted by the OBC review. The first ten pages were interesting and informative. I wrongly believed the royalties were for music and songs judging from the cover, but the author explains within the first ten pages that it includes any intellectual property. This would include songs and music, but it would also include literary works, academic writings and inventions to name a few. Although it seems interesting and informative for its intended audience, I will not finish reading this book because I have no interest in royalties at this time.

I am not interested in learning How to Generate and Earn Royalty Income, so without the first ten program I would have passed on this one. Reading the first ten pages did not change my mind. The book was informative, and read like a textbook. There wasn't anything that I particularly liked about the book. It basically just explained that royalties are what a person pays to another person, or company, to use their creation. The creation could be either physical or intellectual property.

It is possible that the book was professionally edited. I didn't notice any errors. I have no suggestions for improvements. The OnlineBookClub review did not influence my decision. I will not be reading the whole book.

I'm really excited about this book! The review mentioned some typos, but I didn't find any in the sample pages so the book clearly isn't riddled with mistakes. The book is written in a very clear, readable manner. One thing I found most helpful about it is the author's explanation of why royalty payments are important. There were financial reasons I'd never considered before. The book review and the sample pages convinced me to add this book to my list of books I'd like to read, although I'm not purchasing it today.

The only thing I'd change is the Amazon blurb. The final sentence of the blurb states: "Stocks may fall but people continue to listen to their favorite music." This, combined with the photo on the cover, could tend to limit the book's audience by potential readers assuming the book was nothing more than a step-by-step explanation for musicians on how to copyright their music. Such an assumption would be a mistake. This book is truly for anyone who would like to generate income from royalties.

The cover photograph is appealing. Since I don't have anything to earn royalties. I would not choose this book to buy. Whenever I hear an original song or a cover of an old song, I always wonder if someone is being paid for it. This book sounds like it would answer all of my questions about royalties. I learned that it is not just music that can earn royalties. It could be a story, a play, or even an invention. The reviewer said this was a concise book of everything you needed to know about royalties. I found no spelling or grammatical errors and believe this book has been professionally edited. Since I don't have a use for this information, I found the writing a bit dry, like a textbook. I will not be finishing it.

Had I not sampled the book, I would not have read it. I usually read pure romance books and do not normally read business related books. However, I found the subject of earning royalty income interesting. Further, the book had a 3/4 OBC rating, which gave me a good impression of the book. Having read the sample, the first thing that caught my attention was the index. The index was very elaborate which made it slightly confusing. In terms of language and formatting, I found the text easy to read. The vocabulary and sentence structures used were simple. Further, I liked how the author used bullet points, indentation and enough spacing between paragraphs. A few sentences such as "The goal of any licensee is profitability." seemed a little awkward to me. However, I found no major grammatical errors. I had expected more references and citations considering that the author included definitions and examples. Since I do not read the genre usually, I will not be buying the book today.

I would not have sampled this book if I were not part of this program. The cover did not interest me, and although I understand that protecting intellectual capital is important, I did not think the book would be relevant for me. After reading the sample pages, I changed my mind. The author presented the information concisely, which I appreciated. I also liked that she included examples to reinforce scenarios. I found her communication style to be a bit informal, but that did not disrupt my reading experience. While reading the sample pages, I could think of possible scenarios where I might find this information useful. I will buy this book. I did not notice any grammatical errors in the sample pages. A suggestion for improvement would be to change the cover to reflect the diversity of areas that would benefit from the information in this book. The featured OnlineBookClub review reinforced my decision to buy this book.

Based on its title, I would have overlooked the book had I not been part of this program - I wouldn't say I like this kind of reads. On sampling the first ten pages of the book, I loved the step-by-step approach that Peters uses in explaining the various topics discussed. For instance, she gives an overview of royalties, then explains their importance, a factor that I loved since it enhanced my understanding of the book. I also loved the lack of errors in the small bit I sampled. I can confidently say that no improvements are required in any of those pages. There's also an official review for the book from OnlineBookClub. However, I'm not going to buy and read it to its last page since I lack interest in the subject discussed.

I like the title and the cover of the book. The synopsis on Amazon seemed a bit odd. Royalties potentially being the next big thing in investments isn't what was on my mind when I saw this book. The official Online Book Club review gave the book a rating of 3 out of 4 stars due to typographical and grammatical errors in the book. In any type of book giving fiscal and/or legal advice, it is essential for the work to be professionally edited. Otherwise, the information doesn't seem credible. I would be interested in this book if I had an immediate use for the knowledge it contains. However, there is nothing I could earn royalties from at this moment in time, so I don't anticipate wanting to finish this book. "[The] licensor gets its benefits by a licensee utilizing [his/her] intellectual property while the licensee receives greater benefits than the former receives" (20% of sample). As I noticed multiple other errors in the sample, I don't believe the work was professionally edited. The text was full of useful information, but was not interesting enough to read without a practical reason for doing so. I don't plan to finish the book.

To be fair, this book didn't attract me, mostly because I don't really need the information that it offers. However, I liked the simplicity of the cover. Sadly, I didn't find any official review. As for the sample I read, I think the information presented is potentially useful for people that work in fields that use the Royalty system. I didn't find major errors that led me to believe it was not professionally edited. However, I think the formatting for the Kindle app could be improved. Some odd spaces on the titles made it look slightly weird. Sadly, I have no use for the information of this book, so I don't think it is worth buying for me.

My favorite thing about the book is that it is concise.
This book could be improved by including examples of royalties for different mediums (e-books, music, etc).

In my thinking, royalties automatically connect with composing music and writing books. The cover art of this book also pointed to the direction, being decorated with a photo of a girl playing her guitar. Opening the first pages, I was surprised to find out how a much wider variety of industries is using the concept of royalties. I was delighted that somebody attempted to put all this information inside of one set of covers. I’ve always felt it is a real jungle out there, with laws impossible to understand. Unfortunately, after reading the sample pages, I was not feeling confident at all that this flawlessly edited book would help me to navigate through the jungle. I did not read an Official OnlineBookClub review to confirm my thoughts, which are pointing to the direction of not reading further. The topic is difficult, and it is probably almost impossible to write a guide using plain language. Hats off for the author for giving it a try!

Be it writes, singers, or any other person in the creative fields, one of the most important task is to earn income from their work. In her book, 'How to Generate and Earn Royalty Income', Marina Peters outlines the methods to earn royalty incomes. I like how the author starts off by defining royalty payments. I found some errors. For example, it should have been, “the licensor gets..” instead of “Licensor gets..” The editing could be bettered. I do not think that it is professionally edited. I will skip this book as I am not in the mind-frame to read non-fiction books.

Without The First Ten program, I would not have read the book based on the genre. I do not read non-fiction books, so I am not interested in reading a book that teaches people how to earn money from royalties. Although I appreciated the author's clear and expository writing style, I did not change my mind after reading the sample and OBC review. I only found a couple of errors that did not distract me from my reading. For example, there should be a comma before "while" in the following sentence: "The party that makes the payment is the licensee or franchisee while the owner of the property or asset is known as the licensor or franchisor." (location 256 of 279 • 92%) Personally, I found nothing that needed to be improved. I also liked the eye-catching cover, and the Amazon blurb was concise and intriguing. From what I have read, those who are interested in reading business books will find this one informative.

I would not have independently checked this book out based on the title and cover. After reading the official review, and the sample, I am not interested in reading the rest of the book. I am not in the market to get royalty income from anyone. I did find it interesting the number of ways a person can get royalty payments, however. For instance, I had no idea someone could get royalty payments on fashion. I believe this can be a valuable book for those seeking these types of payments. I did notice some errors in the sample. For instance, on the last page of the sample at the bottom of the page, the author gives an example using a company called ABC, and she refers to that company as ABS instead of ABC in one place in a sentence. The book, written in simple language so anyone can understand, is full of useful advice, and I didn't see anything other than a couple of errors that need improvement. I am sure some readers will read and utilize this book, but I am not planning to purchase and read it as I have no interest in the subject.

Based on the title and cover, it seems like a non-fiction/motivational book, which I am not in the market for; hence, I would not have sampled it. I have also come across a positive review of the book, but this would not have changed my decision not to sample, since this book does not belong to a genre that I am looking for. After sampling, there are a couple of minor errors present. For example, at 18% in the sample, there is a missing article "the" in "(The) licensor gets its benefits...". In this same error, I would also recommend using the gender-neutral pronoun "their" instead of "its", as the latter gives the impression that the licensor is definitely not human, which may not be the case. I would suggest more editing. Still, I appreciate that the author has tried to give a short introduction on royalty payments, for those who are unfamiliar. For example, we learn that, generally, a licensing agreement that requires the licensee (the one who receives the license to utilise the copyrighted/licensed/patented property) to pay more than 25% of its profits to the licensor, a sealed agreement between such parties would not happen. This is because 25% is unfavourable to the licensee market. Here, I would also advise the author to be much more specific, i.e. unfavourable in what way – too low, or too high? However, as I am not in the market for non-fiction, I will not be buying the book today.

I wouldn't have read this book outside the First Ten program based on its title, cover, blurb or editorial review. I simply have no current need for the information it contains, especially as I'm not a U.S. citizen. Apart from that, the book's content is quite serious and is heavy reading for me at the time. It has a textbook approach to its subject matter, and I'm not quite ready for the "back to school" sensation accompanied by it. However, I'm glad that it "covers royalty payments made in the following industries...media, and book publishing." So when I finally get round to publishing that mystery book of mine, I'll be sure to bring this one out for consultations. Until then, I'd place it on the back burner. I saw no errors and have no recommendations for improvement. I saw an OBC review, but it didn't influence my decision.

I know absolutely nothing about royalty income, so my honest first thought was that this book is about making a ton of money (and being able to live like royalty). That definitely sounded interesting to me, so I was persuaded to move on to the Official OnlineBookClub review. Luckily, the review set me straight and helped me understand the concept of this book (and not make a fool out of myself at a later time if this topic comes up!). This, along with the relatively short length of the book, got me very interested to know if royalty income is something I could benefit from. Therefore, I decided to continue on to the sample. I appreciated the way this book seems to be concise and to-the-point. Additionally, it seems to be organized in a way that is easy to follow (e.g., definitions, types, examples, etc.) However, in terms of spelling and grammar, the way some of the sentences are structured is a bit confusing. For example, "Where a government owns the resource, such license agreements can be regulated." It seems like "where" should be replaced with "when" in this sentence. At this time, I do not think royalties are something for me to benefit from. Therefore, I will pass on this book today.

I like the cover photo, but I can't connect the title right away to the lady playing a guitar. The image is somewhat misleading, I thought this book has something to do with music. While reading the sample, I like the fast-paced explanation of the topic. I will not read this book because I already know the topic on Intellectual Property. The author did a good job in explaining her idea, and it was very easy to follow. The only thing I can say for improvement is to change the cover photo because somehow it's disappointing. The sample didn't contain any errors, though the OBC reviewer mentioned typos, but I didn't see any. The OBC review doesn't influence my decision.

My attention was drawn to the cover of ‘How to Generate and Earn Royalty Income’ by Marina Peters before I read the title. Upon reading the title and learning the genre that this book belongs to, I found myself disappointed. Whilst I certainly see high value that this book carries, it is not my ‘cup of tea.’ For this reason, I find the cover misleading. It gives an entirely different impression of what it is. Having said that, upon reading the official onlinebookclub.org review and the available sample, I see that this book has a lot to offer. I found this to be a straight-to-the-point book, written in a comprehensible language, and well-edited. I must also admit that, in those few available pages, I learned some things. However, regardless of its indisputable value, I doubt that I will make time for it simply because I prefer reading for adventure and adrenaline rather than practical reasons.

The cover of the book is appropriate for the topic at hand and the blurb is concise but well explained. The ratings are average, but the reason I wouldn't buy the book is that I don't think I own anything that could earn royalties.
The first ten pages didn't convince me to read the book. The reader can infer from the index that you don't have to be an artist to earn royalties but this is not properly stated at the beginning of the book. In fact, the beginning just felt like it lacked a proper introduction, that came until chapter 1.2. Honestly, the text felt dry and hard to understand for laymen. For example, what exactly does "negotiable, redeemable, and convertible" mean? What is an "accredited investor"? What does it mean that the payments are "not fixed"? People who are not well versed in finances, like me, could find all this terminology confusing. I would suggest including a proper introduction. For example, moving the part that starts "This book is a comprehensive guide to what the constituents of royalty payments..." to the very beginning. I would also recommend including a glossary.
On the plus side, I didn't find editing mistakes. The official review didn't change my mind because the book is too confusing and because I guess USA laws for royalties don't apply to my country.

I like that there is a musician on the cover because I'm also a musician, which made me relate to it. Since in my job I need to know about royalty income, I first thought that this book is a must for me. The OBC review only strengthened my initial opinion. The first pages cover facts about the licensor and the licensee. Although I could use this book, I was lost in those facts. The author couldn't keep my attention in place, so I don't see myself reading the whole book. Maybe if the book was more personal or written in a more friendly manner, it would've actually kept my interest high. I didn't find any errors in the editing.

The book begins with an interesting overview of intellectual property. Among other things, the concepts of licensor and licensee are explained, the former the one who receives the payment and the latter who issues it. It is clarified that they generally reach an agreement in which licensee will obtain enough profit to make their business profitable. Plus, the licensor will receive a percentage for the rights of use granted.
I find the subject and the academic approach that seeks to clarify concepts and modes of operation of royalties interesting. In the sample, this is done through clear and simple explanations. The concepts include royalties, royalty payments, and types of royalty agreements. I found the example of Microsoft and the hardware manufacturers adequate.
The official review encourages the reading of the book and clarifies the scope a bit. The editing seems proper although I observed a detail when the book refers to a company as ABS Computers when it was given the name ABC Computers. I also think that in Contents the numbers are extremely close with the beginning of the titles; it would look pleasanter if at least one space is included to separate them. The cover is nice, but it focuses on the music, perhaps an image that tries to represent all the fields associated with royalties could have been better. I think I will not read the rest of the book. Despite it is interesting and well prepared the subject is not of my complete interest; at least at this time.

How to Generate and Earn Royalty Income by Marina Peters sounds like a nice, educative, and comprehensive self-help business book that gives detailed information on how to earn and manage royalties. I liked how the author skillfully highlights some of the benefits of royalty payments at the beginning of this great book. I also liked the book's cover, it's amazing and eye-catching. The sample provided on Amazon, and the well-crafted review on OnlineBookClub, were helpful, as they provided an insight into what the book entails. How to Generate and Earn Royalty Income by Marina Peters is a business and self-help book that focuses on the theme of royalties. When I read its Official OnlineBookClub review, I wanted to sample it since it seemed concise and precise, even though the premise didn't interest me. However, after sampling it, I decided not to read the entire book, because I found the theme wasn't for me. Furthermore, the book seems professionally edited, and I enjoyed that it wasn't prolix.

Had I not sampled this book through the First Ten program, I would probably not picked it up because the title and cover don’t draw my interest right away. For this reason, I don’t intend to purchase the book today. Reading the first ten pages confirmed my first impressions of the book. It is a self-help manual for readers who need instruction on understanding royalties and how to generate them. Based on what I read, the book seems professionally edited, although the Online Book Club review mentioned it contains a few minor errors. I didn’t see errors in the first ten pages. What I liked most about what I read is how the author kept the formatting tidy and organized. The subject of royalties could be a confusing one if it were not presenting in an orderly fashion. I know that fans of self-help books that offer insights on making money through royalties will enjoy this work. As far as improvements, aside from proofreading for the errors mentioned in the review, I could see no need for any in the sample that I read. I did read the Official Online Book Club review and found it insightful. It didn’t affect my views of the book.

This book touches upon a complicated topic, where many people may be impacted without realising it. Since I am not in a situation where royalty income plays a role, I will not read this book. The author covers a broad range of activities. When I read the sample, I missed the qualifications of the author. When reading about a legal topic, I always want to know where the author got his or her knowledge. The OBC review pointed out she has auditing experience.

I found a mistake in the free sample, at location 89%: the author gives an example with company ABC Computers and refers to this company as ABS computers in the next sentence.

Total ~ 21%

How to Generate and Earn Royalty Income earned a score of 21%.

In other words, out of the top-level reviewers who read at least the first 10 pages of this book, 21% plan to read the whole book.

IMPORTANT: Any score over 10% is considered very good. And any score above 0% is acceptable.

Over a million books are published each year. Any given person could not even read .0001% of the books out there. This means readers have to be very selective. Even taking the time to look over reviews and blurbs, let alone read samples, is more time than most readers can afford for most books. The First Ten is a powerful focus group that addresses those issues. It creates a helpful tool for authors, publishers, and other readers.
