The book Nico was authored by Marlene Rattigan and illustrated by Sergio Drumond. This novel revolves around the thrilling journey of a bird named Nico. The author begins the novel by introducing Nico, a sulfur-crested cockatoo, who lives with his human family, Kim, and her family. Nico is a cheerful bird who enjoys entertaining people with his antics, singing, and dancing. He also takes immense pleasure in doing these tasks, which makes Kim and her friends quite happy.

As the narrative goes on, the author emphasizes Nico's joyful life, which took a sharp turn over the summer when Kim's family's outdoor activities left him alone most of the time, making him feel physically ill and abandoned. This scenario underscores the significance of understanding pet care, emphasizing the importance of giving pets careful attention and compassion instead of using them as showpieces or status symbols.

Kim's family realized their error after seeing Nico, and they took him outside with them to help him feel like he belonged again. The narrative talks about giving Nico regular nourishment and maintaining watchful eyes. The author uses Nico's comeback to dancing, singing, and pulling tricks to amuse others to show how a positive environment may maximize a person's potential. This section expounds on how healthy living may bring out the best in people.

The narrative centers on Nico's experience, which took him into an uncharted area and made him worry when he trusted his intuition and followed who he thought was Kim, only to discover that they were someone else. Will Nico show up anywhere again? How is the Kim family searching for him? How did Nico handle the circumstances and get over his fear? Will he manage to perform in front of an audience once more?

I rate this book 5 out of 5. Good teachings on the value of loving and caring for pets are among the book's excellent qualities, along with an intriguing plot. The drawings gave the tale more depth, the narration was captivating, and the artist did a fantastic job of choosing images that went well with the narrative. Nothing let me down; there wasn't anything that earned my dislike, so I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the book. The editing crew did a fantastic job of producing a flawless book for enjoyable reading. This book is appropriate for children up to the age of eight, and I recommend it as a message-based, fun storytime book for kids.

It is amazing that a short story about a birb can carry a compelling life lesson. It seems like it can serve as a great bedtime story. It also resonates with readers who have pets at home and treat them like family. Alas, I wasn't able to get a copy when choosing this book for a review. Appreciate the informative review!
