This book sounds like an interesting plot with a cast of colorful characters. I do not know what the ending could be considering all of the twists and turns that occur throughout the plot. I like that the beginning of the book starts off with a childhood friendship, but quickly devolves into mystery with a suspicious death.

The review is very perceptive and detailed, and your opinions concur with mine.
I only have one objection: When you say
"Despite the excessive profanity, Litherland delivers a suspenseful story that will keep readers guessing until the end.", there actually is no concessive relationship between the two ideas expressed; I cannot see how excessive profanity could prevent delivery of a "suspenseful story....". But maybe I am wrong.

I appreciate that Litherland seeks to portray realistic dialogues through the colorful language, but he seems to go overboard.

Sometimes, I find it difficult to judge if the swearing is excessive. It might help if you can tell us how frequent the swear words come up. Once every sentence/page/dialogue?
