Review of Zona: The Forbidden Land
Grant Taylor travels to a land named Zona, which is not shown on a map, in Fred G. Baker's story Zona: The Forbidden Land. Grant set off in pursuit of his uncle Randall, who had been declared dead by the court after going missing in Zona for a year. Scientist Randall oftentimes makes research trips abroad. Before going missing and being believed dead, he last traveled to Zona. However, Grant thinks his uncle is still alive because of some strange things he found in his apartment. Grant and his gang are about to have an unforgettable experience. Did everyone survive the journey back? Was Randall discovered dead or alive? Discover the answer by reading this book. This place called Zona has a sense of mystery and intrigue. One thing leads to another expedition.
In this exciting book, I appreciate the author's descriptive style. The reality show "The Quest," which I watched as a child, came to mind when I was reading this book. Nothing about this novel is predictable because Fred G. Baker is such a skilled writer, and he understands how to keep readers turning the pages. I felt like I was a part of the squad and was not afraid of any risk because the events in the novel seemed so real to me. I appreciated how the author emphasized the team's cohesion. I was transported back in time by the team's camp setup. I liked reading about the creatures in Zona, and Grant's interactions with the wolves particularly captured my attention. It was also quite interesting to read about the team's exploits in Zona.
In every chapter, there was a clear sense of suspense. This book is full of suspense and adventures. The narration technique used by the author is charming. It was exciting and enjoyable to read because each chapter was given careful consideration and was quite comprehensive.
In this book, there were a few things that I wasn't happy with. Even so, the book's positive aspects outweigh its negative ones. I did not enjoy how the team members became intoxicated because it caused more unfortunate incidents during the adventure. After reading this part of the book, I realized I no longer wanted to be associated with the team. I was further worried because the team met with ferocious creatures and bad weather. Another thing that turned me off about Grant was his sexual relationships with odd women.
My dislikes did not make the book any less enjoyable for me. I found no errors in this book, which is a testament to its excellent editing. I found the trip to Zona to be too real. Nearly everything they felt was palpable to me. The pictures, including the trees and even the animals, were beautiful in my vision. The reader hopes for a sequel since they are left wanting more information from the book.
I give Zona: The Forbidden Land a rating of 4 out of 5 stars because of its explicit sexual content. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys science fiction, suspense, and adventure. Children and younger readers won't find this book suitable due to its sexual content.
