The book Who Told You That You Were Naked: A Refreshing Reexamination of the Garden of Eden by William E. Combs is an analysis about the fundamental parts of Christianity; faith, sin, origins, the concept of good or bad. The author is trying to make an interpretation about what made Adam and Eve disobey God’s instructions about living in Paradise and break the pact, following the consequences of the act. He will explain how to obtain redemption, follow the faith, deal with opposition and all the evil in the world. Nothing but experiencing the Christian life.
The book goes from the authors childhood, until present life. He narrates events that happened throughout his life. He also, supplements his work with life changing experiences and other people experiences that helps the reader understand certain topics that are being exposed in the book.
It is a very easy reading, enjoyable, you will not get bored reading it. It is written without complicated words or extended topics. It is about ten chapters, 223 pages, very well divided. Also, is written in a way that the reader, can understand the reference he made about previous topics. It is well documented, he quotes other authors, made other titles references, explanations and references to the Bible that can be look out. The end notes are very helpful to understand certain analysis he made and some of them add a little more information about the topic. I must say it is well presented and have been well edited.
I believe that the book is written for people that really knows Christianity, knows the Bible and has a certain knowledge about Christian living. New life Christians can become a little confused about the way the author made interpretation about certain events that are narrated in the Bible. I believe, confusion is not the purpose of the book. The purpose is to make people realize the fundamental beliefs in Christianity and to make people lose the life of conformity.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because it could be an excellent resource for a theology class, dissertation or simply to use it as a reference for discussion. One good thing about this book is that the author gave a study guide, a series of discussion questions at the end of each chapter. It is formidable because by answering them, you can refresh the topic and understand a little more about it by searching the references.
