Have you ever wondered why human beings always prefer good things to happen to them? Or have you ever asked yourself why sins only apply to human beings and not animals? Who Told You That You Were Naked? A Refreshing Reexamination of The Garden of Eden by William E. Combs, explicitly explains how the knowledge of good and evil came to be part of human beings after the first parents disobedience in the Garden of Eden. The author narrates the old history of the Garden of Eden humorously as if he was an eye witness. However, he is very careful not to exaggerate things which may make his readers to question the authenticity of his narration. The book also covers faith, its relevance to human beings and and how it applies to our lives and requests we make in our prayers. It also touches topics like "walking in the way of Christ", "living in God's rest and a brief review on translation of the Bible."

I picked this book because of my love for Christian literatures. At first, I thought this book would only revolve around the the Genesis story of creation; specifically the event of the Garden of Eden. However, this was a wrong prediction. I found this book to be involving a lot of teachings that Christians will definitely benefit from.

William E. Combs really made me understand why human beings really struggle with sins every now and again. It is true that through Adam, the "law of sin of death" became part of human beings. From there hence forth the sin has been crouching at our doors. Even though we have the capacity to resist but still we need the help of one celestial being (Jesus) to receive "the law of spirit of life" that frees us from sins.

There are a few things that made me like this book so much. The first and foremost was that, this book was well written, professionally edited and well organized. Secondly, the author has beefed this book with numerous testimonies which made his elucidations more real and relatable. Actually, some of his testimonies were touching especially in the event when his wife encountered devil. Lastly, the questions after each and every topic made a good emphasis on key concepts the author wanted his readers to master. It is important to note that these questions are optional, especially if you are the type who doesn't like evaluation. You can always skip them and this will not detract your enjoyment of this book.

William E. Combs has done a credible job by writing this professionally edited novel. There were no typos or any error that I encountered while I was reading this book. The Bible verses were well quoted with high degree of accuracy and clarity. I can therefore confidently rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars.

I think this book will interest those who like to read Christian literature mainly to increase their faith and knowledge about the Scriptures. As a matter of fact, non Christians will not like this book. But all the same, if you can gather courage and give it a try, you won't regret your effort.
