I am someone who finds it hard to look for a non-fiction book I want to read and only few are very memorable for me. And then I met Margaret was the first non-fiction book that interested me from the first chapter until the last one. Rob White has written a very inspiring book.
Rob White had attained great achievements and wealth through out his life, yet he felt and found that this type of success is not enough to experience life to the fullest. Thus his quest to finding gurus that can teach him the real success in life. A man who understood the secret of life’s real success only when he was halfway through the race, he shares what inspired him and taught him how to get closer to life. Rob White recollects moments where he learned life changing lessons in the most unexpected gurus even in the most ordinary circumstances.
And then I met Margaret is a great read. I enjoyed going through every chapter and learning new things. I like that it was written in such a way that it was relatable regardless of your status in life. Whatever stage you are facing in your life right now there is surely something you will relate to while reading this book.
Easy to understand and simple storytelling are few reasons why it is relatable. The stories were very detailed and lucid that I could see it playing in my mind. The people that played a role in the book had very strong characters they made such a big impact. I like how at the end of every chapter, the author shares what he thought or what he believes before encountering certain challenges and certain people and comparing it to what he realizes and learns afterwards.
I can see different types of people reading this book, professional and non-professional, those who were starting in life and those who felt they lost their grasp on how to win in life, and especially those people who were like Rob who are in search for gurus that helps them realize the real success. I see young adults and old people relating and learning through this book.
The book is very well written. Even though it deals with some serious topic the author did a good job in putting humor in it, making it interesting and never boring. Although the grammar was very good, I did saw a very few typos in it. Over all I give this book 3 out of 4 stars. It was a really good book. However, because of the few typos I am refrained to giving it a perfect rating.
