The followed-my- star is a non-fiction tale written by AR Annahita working at Fine art America. The plot has 19 chapters and is written in the first person perspective. The author describes the various intertwined social, economic and political themes which influence the Americans and world population at large to be the way it is today.

The author starts to present that, the society always strive to find the meaning of life, happiness and love. She also describes that, the desire to fulfil such needs is endless and becomes problem itself. The desire for life the one sets might be too high to attain, the author suggests that, one should be at the balance (middle) which is actually fairly comfortable. The author stressed that in every country there are good and bad people. When one person commit good thing, it affect all and when another person commit a bad thing it affects all too. She exemplified that if a person introduces himself/herself before Americans that he/she is from Iran, then all American will run away from him simply because he/she is Iranian. The author recommends people, not to judge others based on their national history.

The author also claims that, the middle class in America is ignored before upper and lower class, despite its potentiality in the country economy. She further says that the society has long been taught to respect the ones who are in upper class. Regrettably, people in the middle and lower class, strive in their daily basis to reach the upper class, which results into materialist society. This is aggravated by failure of the people in the upper class to understand that, they are there because of the lower and the middle class so in order for them to have stable flow of cash and move the community in the middle is comfortable, the author argue that, the one in the upper class should give back to the lower and middle class.

The themes presented in this genre are so imperative in human life in today's world. The way the author presented her themes chapter after chapter is so intriguing. Though I don’t agree with her view about some religious concepts- probably due differences in the way I use and perceive the word of God through bible-, I still appreciate the way she defended her points. Throughout the plot, I came across with insignificant number of grammatical, spelling and punctuation errors which did not detract my concentration from the genre.

One of the most author’s critical view which I didn’t agree with is the way she used the words “old books” to describe bible and Quran. She should have born in mind, that those books are considered to be holly to both Christian and Muslim believers. It could be easier for her idea to be positively perceived and probably change the mind-set of the conservative Muslim and Christian believers, if she could have avoided harsh words that. On top of that I am contrary with her liberal minded specifically on the issues of abortion and homosexuality as I believe, marriage is between man and woman and I perceive abortion as other kind of madder cases.

The author failed to include the cover page and the table of content and assigning the page numbers and the chapter titles which could have made it easy for the readers to follow and refer to the story. This is clear indication that, the author didn’t pass his book to the professional editor.

In fact I am more interested in reading non-fiction novel especially those which touch our daily life of which the follow-my-star is the one. Due to the above mentioned flaws, I regrettably rate it 2 out of 4 stars. I recommend the book to be sent to the professional editor before being delivered to all people who are above 18 years old; regardless of the social, political and economic differences. Dissemination author’s knowledge will facilitate the attaining of her main goal which is to attain world peace, despite everyone thinks it’s impossible; she has doubt on that, and she wants to try.

Thanks for your appreciation! Though I am not sure whether I understood the book better than you. I think the point is our difference in the angle of vision up on the same thing.
