Who told you that you are naked by William E. Combs is a nonfiction book which details series of events in Eden between God and our first parent Adam and Eve whom their transgression and disobedience to God lead to sin and death into this world and how we were set free from both sin and death through the work Christ has done which gives us everlasting rest after walking with him in faith by taking up our cross and deny ourselves the pleasure of this world. The essence of faith and some series of events which account for reasons why Christ has to give his life to man was also dealt with. It is a resourceful tool.

The book will be highly appreciated by enthusiastic theologians and people who are interested in understanding what sin entails and how to be free from it. It will be of no interest to those who doesn’t believe in Christ or any religion at all.

My favorite part is the “the three avenues the lord uses to assist us in our walk with him” which are the bible, God’s voice and His peace, because that gives directions to look when one get lost.

There are three expressions I found very uncomfortable and very difficult to comprehend there true inclination in the context of nonfiction texts, these are: “He called out Adam, where are you?” knowing God is omnipresent and omniscience, he can make his voice heard anywhere they were and proclaim anything he wants. Also, the question by God “Have you eaten the fruit of the tree I commanded you not to eat?” and finally, “turning to her and asking her what is this that you have done? All these statements belittle God. He should have approached them and passed his judgment knowing what they have done without asking any question.

Some relevant questions after each chapter if given deep thought will enhance the level of understanding of not only the book but also Christ relationship with god and man in relation to actions and inactions of Adam and that is what I love most about the book. Also, some personal testimonies given at every chapter allow me to relate well with every chapter of the book and that deepens my understanding of the whole essence of the book.

The use of simple words in conveying the message is wholesome for me and for that I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.
