Jillion R Rising's book encompasses the analysis and suggested solutions to the current economic and societal crises in the USA. The problems are stated with empirical evidence to prove it, a proposed action is given, and what will occur once the proposed action is in effect. Rising makes some effective points and criticisms that every person can weigh in on. Such as the media’s portrayal of the extremism within left and right parties, the polarising propaganda has controlled people’s perceptions and turned citizens against one another. The book argues that manipulation of technology, taxation, and debt precipitate certain events, as well as control perception. Past decisions of presidents are also analyzed. This is a continuous theme, given that the author shows how multiple issues plague Americans, who are often too caught up in the Democrat vs. Republican battle to notice. Something that the government encourages and takes advantage of to avoid accountability. Rising analyses of past American crises, such as the savings and loan crisis and the Great Recession. In doing so, the actions of the ruling parties, be they Democratic or Republican, have been analyzed. Rising undoubtedly brings forth the question of whether it matters who is Democratic or Republican if the choices they make once in power do not adhere to the principles of the party they chose. The current position of millennials, “boomers” and “baby boomers” and what issues they both have are brought up throughout the novel. The reader will gauge the repeated point that Rising is making and be persuaded by this evidence.

Rising did not write this book in a pessimistic tone, and throughout the book, it encourages the reader to be proactive. The writing style is persuasive, and all complex ideas are explained in simple terms so that this book is truly accessible.
Whilst I do not agree with everything the book states, that doesn’t stop me from acknowledging that all points made are certainly made with careful consideration. This review is not meant to be a place to stand on politics, so I cannot state my disagreements. The most important takeaway is that Rising has provided work that causes thought-provoking discussions.

There is not much that I did not like about this book. The writing can feel pedantic and repetitive at times. Whilst I did like the purely logical argument that the author had set out, I feel as though stronger arguments could be made if the author wasn’t overly cautious of offending someone when it came to Democrats and Republicans. There were times when I think that Rising could’ve (since the problem, such as drugs, was mentioned) gone into more depth in the analysis as to why it wasn’t resolved. I think more evidence could have been included to be fair and to be more persuasive.

I do think this book is for everyone. By this I mean, although it is in the context of American citizens, I think it can be applied anywhere. For example, Rising states that the health of the economy starts with the availability of jobs, and I think everyone, anywhere in the world, has an opinion (most likely agreement) on this. Given the interest in the political climate in the USA at this moment, I think it’s been a highly educational read for me. Reading an American point of view as an outsider gathers much more empathy for Americans than social media would allow.

The book appears to be professionally edited, as I have found no errors. I cannot state if this book tethers more on conspiracy than actuality, as my knowledge of the subject was limited. That said, it’s a really good book that can be read by various age groups. I recommend this book to anyone interested in politics and to readers who seek solutions or enlightenment to American problems.
I rate this book a four out of five stars.

I read this book and found it both thought-provoking and enjoyable. I believe that the USA is in desperate need of a third party or more. I think the author's idea of using referendums to engage Americans in the decision-making process is an interesting idea to be explored and developed. The author is a layman from the construction industry if my memory is correct. I read this book quite a while ago. I agree with everything you outlined in this well-written review.
