Thank you for the review. I sampled the book. It is good to be wise when going into any relationship. This book gives some examples and advice on dealing with faulty personalities. Everyone can think of some real-life situations that the author details. Congrats on the #BOTD.

'The opposite of love is indifference. You might be in deep as far as loving someone, but if they are indifferent towards you, you might feel that the love is not reciprocated.'
This is a food for thought. I guess this book will help me understand the feeling of love better.

The review mentions the book needing to be read before a relationship starts. I agree! Having been on that side in a relationship myself, it would have been better if someone had taught me what red flags were. Tho the reviewer did not call them red flags. The reviewer even talks about a few of the notable traits of a narcissist, it also says the book will tell you how to deal with those kinds of people too. I have been turned off of relationships for a while now because of what I went thru. Maybe this book can renew my hope in maybe someday being in a healthy relationship.

Being with a narcissist is quite toxic in a relationship. I don't mind learning how to recognize them easily. 'A primary characteristic of a narcissist is their constant need for praise. They often seek attention and praise, leaving their partners neglected and unseen.'

I wish I had been able to read this book during my first marriage. I was married to a narcissist for almost eight years. I knew in my heart he was a narcissist but I stupidly thought I could change him. Those eight years were a very trying time in my life. The ups and downs and abysmal control he had over me almost broke me. I’m happy to say I’m in a much better, healthy relationship now, but I read this book for the knowledge to spot the things I didn’t see and to learn and heal from the past hurt I went through for all those years. Thanks for the great review.

I found it really interesting the author's redefinition of the opposite of love and how it is actually indifference. The author explains well the confusion many women have with how what should just be a simple term is turned into a manipulative game by narcissists. Love should just be simple, you care for each other with mutual trust, empathy, and affection, and you never see your partner as a play toy for your amusement. Narcissism is very real, very prevalent, and the effects impact many worldwide. I definitely agree that while this book doesn't drag you in like a well-experienced narrator or storyteller might, it is most definitely one of the most educational books I've read. The world needs books like this. The author definitely shows passion in their work, they have a consistent way of explaining difficult topics so that all can understand, and they build upon what you've learned as they go on giving solid facts from years of experience.

It's interesting to know that the opposite of love is indifference and not hate, as we all think. Thank you highlighting the qualities of a narcissist.
Your review was well written.

Unfortunately, I have dealt with people who have narcissism, and it is very damaging and mentally debilitating to their victims. This book is a godsend for those who need tips on how to deal with these people. Thanks for the review!

I didn’t expect to find the book so relatable. It was trippy to be honest, but I also felt a sense of relief and honestly, I felt vindicated as well. I personally fell into that narcissistic black hole and been in there for 5yrs (however not so much marriage, but the people I work with—men and women), This is my first review and the first book I’ve finished in a long time. It was therapeutic to read in a way too, though also painful in the way stretching stitches would feel. The way the book progressed and the information flowed..the more I read—and then began to believe I was the narcissist— continued to read and the author answered like they had already known what direction my brain was going to go in and brought me out of it….The advice at the end, the way the information is written— how the different women’s stories were written— made it all the easier to understand a bit more about a narcissist and how to spot one in your life.
