In a forest, a mysterious figure drops a crucial parcel, which a young boy named Tash retrieves. Inside is Chloe, a baby with a special mark, destined to combat dark magic. Fast forward ten years, and Chloe’s curiosity leads her to explore places, despite Tash’s warnings. As she uncovers hidden dangers and helps free captives, including a powerful fairy, her true role begins to surface. Meanwhile, Tash faces his own battles against dark forces. With Chloe’s powers slowly awakening, the stakes grow higher. Will she fulfill her destiny and confront the approaching evil? The journey has only just begun.

PILLYWIGGIN The Lost Shadow Boys by Debbie Bishop takes readers on an exciting adventure filled with magical realms and courageous heroes. The book’s excitement really picks up as Chloe, despite Tash’s warnings, is drawn to the eerie Heatherworld. LB is a young boy who narrowly escapes from a giant, dragon-like lizard, and Jayce swoops in to save him. The story is full of action-packed scenes and vivid descriptions. Jayce’s brave confrontation with Hagla, the dark magic of Heatherworld, and the fierce battles involving fairy dragons make for an engaging read.

Monica is my best character. Her persona at first seemed somewhat off-putting, but as the narrative developed, she played a role I was surprised she agreed to. One more person I really respect is Tash. His bravery makes him a motivating character throughout the narrative.

Though the book was professionally edited, I found an error in it. The author’s writing style is both engaging and vivid, bringing the enchanting and mysterious world to life with clear, imaginative prose. The book covers themes of bravery and heroism. The author's creativity is exceptional, creating a fantastical realm that feels both magical and tangible. The settings, from the eerie Heatherworld to the hidden tunnels, are richly described, enhancing the sense of adventure and mystery. Self-discovery is another significant theme in the book. Chloe’s journey is not only about external adventures but also about finding her own strengths and purpose.

There is nothing I didn’t like about the book. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. One of the book’s strongest qualities is its suspenseful moments. For instance, the sequence where Chloe and her friends go into the perilous tunnel and discover a sleeping figure is full of tension and keeps you curious. The author does an excellent job bringing in tension, making you feel like you’re right there with the characters. I recommend the book to fans of fantasy adventures and suspenseful stories.

Brave characters, valiant quests, villains to be defeated. As stressed by the review, the plot seems to provide a full plate of fantastic adventures at the hands of our heroes. Furthermore, the protagonists evolve and grow along the way.
