The Truth About Elves by Ekta R. Garg is a delightful and heartwarming Christmas novella that presents a fresh take on holiday magic. The story follows Curtis, a bartender in Las Vegas who secretly works as an elf for Mr. C (Santa Claus). The narrative begins with Curtis appearing content with his life but soon reveals the emotional weight he carries. Mr. C, with his timeless wisdom, devises a plan to help Curtis confront his past and find the courage to return home.

Curtis’ journey is touching and makes you feel for him. The author talks about forgiving others, finding yourself, and how important family is. The story progresses at a well-balanced pace, allowing ample time for colorful descriptions and character development. The author uses vivid illustrations to make places like the vibrant streets of Las Vegas and Santa’s magical workshop feel real. Initially, Mr. C's actions may seem perplexing, but as the truth is revealed, it enhances the readers' enjoyment of the book.

The dates, places, and a brief note at the beginning of each chapter help us understand the story even better. I particularly enjoyed the aspect of the book that showcases the relationship between Curtis and Leigh. Curtis' experience working as a student counselor helped me gain insight into certain aspects of my life. My favorite line from the book is: "Times change, fashions change, but people don't." This story isn’t just about Christmas magic; it’s also about how strong and brave people can be.

I have no criticisms of this book. It is an absolute masterpiece, and I found no errors, indicating exceptional editing. For these reasons, I wholeheartedly give The Truth About Elves by Ekta R. Garg an easy 5 out of 5 stars rating. This book is recommended to anyone seeking a heartwarming and delightful read filled with Christmas magic.
