Opaque by Calix Leigh-Reign is a captivating thriller that intricately intertwines the lives of Adam and Carly as they grapple with their respective challenges. Adam faces intense emotional and physical struggles, including seizures and guilt stemming from a tragic accident. On the other hand, Carly contends with her unique ability to sense emotions while adjusting to a new life with her aunt. Despite their disparate obstacles, Adam and Carly develop a profound connection that transcends their individual hardships.

Their budding relationship faces various hurdles, including Adam's family turmoil and Carly's uncertainties. As their bond strengthens, Adam's emotional turmoil reaches a climax when he confronts his father's infidelity and learns the truth about his adoption. This revelation prompts Adam to confront his identity and place in the world, marking a significant turning point in his journey of self-discovery.

Meanwhile, Carly grapples with moral dilemmas, particularly when she withholds information about Adam's ancestry, straining their relationship. Tensions escalate, leading to a heated confrontation and leaving Carly consumed with guilt. However, their relationship takes a new direction when Carly reveals their shared heritage, unlocking a deeper connection between them. Through this revelation, Adam discovers his biokenretic abilities, including pyrokinesis, and embarks on a journey of exploration and self-mastery alongside Carly.

As they spend time together, learning about their powers and bonding over shared experiences, the narrative delves into themes of identity, acceptance, and the power of choice. The remainder of the plot revolves around how Carly and Adam's lives are impacted by these newly discovered truths.

One of the book's strengths lies in its portrayal of Adam and Carly's journey, emphasizing the importance of communication, understanding, and empathy in navigating life's complexities. Additionally, the author's writing style is commendable, effectively drawing readers into the characters' world. Furthermore, the book's design enhances the reading experience, adding to its appeal. This book stands out not only for its compelling narrative but also for its meticulous editing, with no errors found throughout the text. Despite the presence of profanity, the story remains engrossing, and the absence of dislikes underscores its overall quality.

This book is a compelling thriller that will appeal to adults who enjoy intricately woven narratives and themes of self-discovery and empowerment. With its well-executed plot, engaging characters, and thought-provoking themes, it earns a solid rating of 5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommended for fans of thrillers.

I didn’t think that I would like Adam as an individual when I first began reading this book. However, I try not to be judgmental and I kept reading. I’m glad that I did because if I hadn’t I would have missed a very good book. Thanks!

It sounds like Carly and Adam were made for each other. One of them has intense emotions while the other is good at sensing the emotions. The themes of family turmoil, adoption, infidelity, and self-discovery are ones that many readers can identify with. The 5 out of 5 star rating makes this book a must read. :techie-studyinggray:
