The book titled, Snatched from Heaven, by Jemima Paul, PhD, with Arvind Paul was a great read. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

The style of prose was easy to read and follow. Although the book was based on young children’s experience in heaven, the book was geared toward adults, using the biblical scriptures to highlight information shared in the child’s own words.

The book doesn’t come off as ‘preachy”, instead, it is an account from the children’s perspective, lined up with scriptures to possibly elucidate the narrative from the children. The word ‘possibly’ is used because the author does not attempt to verify exactly what the children’s experience was. Instead, the author provided narratives from the children and discusses possibilities of alignment with scripture. The authors also did a good job of explaining things the children would have learned in church, and things they had not learned.

The reason it doesn’t receive a full five stars is because some of the ideals in the book are not connected to scripture by the authors. It appeared that connecting scripture to the children's narrative was an important aspect of this body of work. However, there are important parts of the children's narrative that are offered without connecting scripture, as done for the majority of the book. This is somewhat baffling, as the other parts of the narrative relate to scripture, but some remains without interpretation.

This is the first book where I found no typos of grammatical errors. This is very rare and should be commended. The editing on this book was fantastic! The only negative about the book was not connecting all narratives to scripture which seemed to be the intent.

Overall, the book does a good job of providing the children’s narrative without being overrun with adult’s ideas about how heaven should be. The book seemed to stay true to the children’s experience while cautiously adding meaning, based on scripture.
