Review of Somawise
Somawise means gaining access to the body's wisdom and then engaging that wisdom in everyday life. The author's father was imprisoned for his actions against the government and given a choice between life imprisonment or political asylum in the United States. This made them move to the United States. He was often left home all alone, and this made him shift to porn for pleasure. He could not share the effect this was causing with anyone, as he feared that it could lead to a reprimand or punishment. This book is entirely about understanding how our body works for proper response.
The author teaches about the importance of movement for our bodies. It assists in circulation, keeping our bowel movements regular by supporting the natural motion of our internal organs, improving bone density and muscle tissue, and helping us think more clearly. Healthy lifestyle principles are real food, movement, rest, and relaxation. These help reduce stress load and help you start learning how to listen to the body and understand how it speaks for a better response. Rest helps counter stress. Meditation requires adequate stillness to listen to the body and how it wants things to be done.
I love the author's honesty. His willingness to share how he struggled with porn was a bold step. This enables the reader to understand how such acts negatively influence our lives and how to navigate through them. The quotes given at the beginning of each chapter were so enlightening. I noted them down for future works like motivational speeches. He also gave summaries of each chapter at the end of each. This was very helpful, as it helped me understand the main topics that the chapter addressed. It made me understand the chapters better. The science in the book proved that the author had done proper research before writing this book. He spoke of a lot of scientific facts.
There is nothing to dislike in the book. The plot is well organized into subtitles for proper following. The book is exceptionally well-edited. I rate Somawise by Luke Sniewski 5 out of 5 stars. The book has few pages, and this makes it easy to read even when one is tired. The simple language used was of utmost importance, as it made me understand the events of the book better.
I recommend this book to anyone struggling to understand their bodies. The author's struggle with pornography will make one understand that it's normal to misunderstand your body and the remedies for it. I recommend it to anyone who wants to know how our bodies handle stress. I learned that relationships are built on trust, and the way we talk impacts our direct experience. Get yourself a copy of this book to understand the details.
