Who bears the blame when a youngster perishes in an automobile accident? Are there ever good substitutes for getting an abortion? Does spiritual justice equate to judicial justice? What common ground do Jews, Christians, and nonreligious groups share? Pick up a copy of John Payne's Then Comes the Flood to find out how these subjects relate. You will read about Cindy, Kayla, and Megan, who are women battling with different problems regarding childbirth. The author uses the stories to have a conversation with readers.

At first, it seemed unclear how the several characters in this novel related to one another. But after the first few chapters, things began to make sense. I applaud the author for blending the religious perspectives of Christians and Jews with those of nonreligious communities without denigrating any of them. All of the characters were accepting of different viewpoints while remaining steadfast in their own convictions.

I like that the debate around Roe v. Wade focused on the balance between excessive government power and women's autonomy over their bodies and lives. Nonetheless, the author talked about how certain people profit from the government's position. My two most insightful reads from this book were the themes of when a newborn or fetus is deemed human and a victim's right to retain privacy.

I didn't dislike anything about this narrative, even if my opinions didn't align with some of those in it, since the author gave a balanced account of all the relevant points of view. Every scenario contains unique elements that influence a person's choice. I applaud the author's open-mindedness in authoring this book.

I found no negative aspects of the book. There were no grammatical errors, showing it was well-edited. I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. This masterfully written novel is deserving of nothing less than the top grade since the narrative moves along effortlessly and the characters are completely realized. I recommend this book to pregnant women.
