The authors of this book are very creative and inspiring. They are able to put across in a beautiful and simplified way, the concepts of heaven and hell which are somehow hard to believe for some people. This in a manner as to ease the understanding with these experiences.
Emma wakes up from a dream with so much excitement and recounts the dream to her parents and sister. Their parents have been teaching Emma and her younger sister Bella about the love of God and how they should also love him in return. Driven by the joy of heaven, she begins to pray for more dreams about heaven which she eventually gets again.
This book shows parents how to give a good foundation in the Christian faith to kids at such a tender age; when they believe in everything their parents say. Also, the book is based on the Holy Scriptures and not just on some imaginations. The parents use bible verses to give a clear understanding of these concepts making the girls to understand that it is not a made up story. Furthermore, the fact that the children attend Sunday school and having their parents read bible stories to them makes them to be spiritually alert. In addition, Emma is able to share her dreams about heaven (and later on hell) with her parents because of the kind of atmosphere that reigns in their home. She knows her parents would understand her and therefore freely expresses herself to them. This is amazing! I particularly love the fact that this story depicts hell too pushing the children to see the reason why they have to be conscious of sharing their faith and making others believe too.
However, Bella should be wondering why only Emma dreams and maybe should have been wishing to dream too or expressing this desire in some way. Also, one would wonder why Emma would be dreaming for Bella and herself all the time. It would have been good to also use bible verses to support what Emma saw in hell just as was the case with heaven.
This book is highly recommended for every Christian parent on the one hand as it will give them a good strategy on how to lay a solid foundation for the faith of their children based on the bible. Also it will give them some habits that will greatly help their children achieve growth in their faith. On the other hand, children can also benefit from this book given that it clearly paints a picture of the kind of immense love that Jesus has for them and their eternal destinations which depends on their obedience to God’s commands.
The use of images as well as the presentation of the content under short, precise and captivating titles in this book makes it even more interesting. On a general note this book is enjoyable and very enriching with a good writing style. Besides, its editing is impeccable. With all this in mind this book can be rated as 4 on 5 because Emma’s dreams about heaven are supported with scripture which is not the case with the dreams about hell.
