Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
Galen Bray comes from a world shattered by civil war, where four princes fight for their father's crown. The devastation that follows in their path is severe, affecting everyone in the land. The poor are drafted into the army, while the wealthy become targets. We follow Galen Bray and other characters with unique and compelling stories as they traverse a dangerous world packed with political intrigue, magical powers, and personal missions amid this chaos. An enigmatic sorceress with a secret past, a young warrior with an unavoidable destiny, a cunning political strategist, and a faithful companion caught up in a web of competing loyalties are among the characters. As these characters uncover buried secrets and encounter unexpected difficulties, they must make decisions that will determine Voulhire's fate. This epic story reveals betrayals, alliances, and secret motives.
Matthew Tysz offers a gripping plot that will keep you engaged from beginning to end. This novel immerses you in the beautifully detailed and vivid world of Voulhire, complete with its rich history, civilizations, and magical aspects. What distinguishes it, though, are its characters, who are tremendously multi-dimensional and evolve personally during the plot, making them all the more relatable and intriguing. As the first book in the Voulhire series, it establishes a solid basis for future adventures, leaving readers anticipating the next chapter in this enthralling saga.
Because of the excellent writing, I immensely enjoyed this book. I couldn't think of anything I didn't like about it. However, some readers who prefer a more straightforward plotline may become overwhelmed by the book's elaborate world-building and various plots. Keeping track of all the characters and their motivations could be difficult. While the characters in the book are complex, some readers may feel that specific characters require more depth, making them less committed to their adventures.
I rate We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies a 5 out of 5 stars. The author does an excellent job keeping the reader interested in the story, making this novel enjoyable. The unique characters and their stories kept me invested until the very end, and the outstanding world-building immersed me in the world of Voulhire.
This book features a beautifully crafted, thought-out world, interesting characters, and magical elements. If you're a fan of epic fantasy, I highly recommend reading this book. The story does contain profanity and violent events. It alludes to child abuse, which may not be suitable for sensitive readers.
