Review of Shitolian
[Following is a volunteer review of "Shitolian" by O Persaud.]
Shitolian by O Persaud is a collection of poems that explores the chaos and irrationality of modern society. It provides insightful commentary on diverse subjects like politics, religion, cultural challenges, and other issues that contribute to divisions within society. The anthology emphasizes the importance of reason and critical thinking as essential tools to tackle the complex challenges and conflicts of our time. By delving into these themes, The book sheds light on the intricate nature of our social environment and underscores the significance of reason in navigating it effectively.
In this thought-provoking collection, O Persaud exposes overlooked truths and emotions prevalent in today's society. Through poetic expression, the author addresses sensitive topics such as racial discrimination, social inequality, slavery, gun control, and religious divisions. I found nothing to dislike about the book, as it is flawlessly written, showcasing the author's remarkable talent and artistry. The book surpassed my expectations of poetry, as the author's unfiltered emotional expression on social issues deeply resonated with me. The anthology illustrates that one can appreciate the artistic merits of the work without necessarily sharing the writer's perspective. I was pleasantly surprised by the effective portrayal of controversial topics through poetry, making the book an exceptional masterpiece.
