Living in peace is every human being’s ultimate goal, but how can we approach this utopian destination? In the book A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, the author shares his proposition to build a peaceful world.

In this book, the author talks about the discrimination caused by racism in his early years under the colonial government and how he became an activist and fighter to free his country from the colonists. After graduating from a university in the United States, he accepted an invitation from the president of Côte d'Ivoire and became a diplomat to solve many domestic and international crises. Based on his experience and religion, he formed his way of constructing peaceful relationships among different countries.

I would rate this book five out of five stars. I like that the author shares his personal experience as a freedom fighter and grassroot movement activist. People like him sacrificed their lives and freedom to free their countries from colonialism. And he always emphasizes the importance of education for the development of a country. While in Côte d'Ivoire, he assisted the president in attracting foreign companies to build factories and train workers in the country. As an experienced diplomat, the author narrates many diplomatic missions he was involved in. We can see how he endeavored to solve the humanitarian crisis in the Middle East and how the conflict between Israel and Palestine resulted in misery for both people. The most valuable part of this book is that the author offers his approach to a peaceful world, which is through dialogue among different countries or parties. War and violence cannot bring peace to our society, but only more hatred and retaliation. Through dialogue, we learn from our differences and similarities, understand each other’s perspectives, and form a plan to benefit everyone. I don’t see anything negative about this book. And this book is professionally edited; I don’t find any typos.
