Review of A Dream For Peace
Only a select few would be willing to lose their lives in order to obtain freedom because it comes at such a high cost and requires so much sacrifice. None of the few characteristics necessary to struggle for freedom—true determination, courage, and patriotism—was lacking in the author's life. Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's book, A Dream for Peace, explores the liberation battles of Algeria and other African nations. This book is for you if you enjoy mind-blowing non-fiction books.
During the French colonial era in Algeria, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, also known as Aziz, was born into a Muslim family in the little village of Aïn Beïda in the province of Constantine. Aziz, who has always been intelligent and anti-colonialist, received a scholarship and decided to study medicine in France. In France, he met others who shared his desire to see diverse African nations freed from the control of colonial powers, and together they founded the Association of North African Muslim Students (AEMNA) and other groups to carry out their mission. Will they be successful? Read this book to find out.
The life of the author is fascinating in every way, and after reading this book, I learned a lot about him. I was able to comprehend the price of being a loyal citizen of a nation. The author's bravery and sacrifice in taking a life-threatening risk to ensure the potential liberation of his country is what piqued my interest in this book the most. Another aspect of the author's life that is worth noting is his ability to combine being an excellent student with being a freedom fighter.
I have to admit that every aspect of this book intrigues and captivates. The tale is compelling and well-developed, and the writing is of the highest caliber. Another feature of this book that deserves mention is how beautifully the characters were represented and easy to identify. Reading this book was interesting and reader-friendly due to how carefully it was written and how intelligently it was divided into seventeen chapters, each with an engaging theme.
After finishing this book, I could not think of anything that would make me dislike it. I couldn't find any obvious typos or grammatical mistakes, which shows how carefully the book was edited. As a result, I will give this book a rating of four out of four stars. I'd recommend this book to anyone who values freedom, enjoys historical fiction, or wants to understand more about what it takes to break free from colonial rule.
