Becky Lu Jackson shares a very honest account of her own healing journey from addiction to finally reaching self-love and self-respect.
Seeking... Finding... Healing... offers us a clear path to firstly, analyse and secondly, change patterns of behaviour and trauma related responses to become more conscious of our self-destructive actions.
The "Family Healing Path", which is the name of the method created by Becky, allows us to communicate with our younger selves and receive information from them to help us move through trauma and improve our emotional intelligence. At the same time, we will also be seeking guidance and support from our older selves when needed.
The idea is to become the parents our younger selves did not have in order to overcome challenging situations in a healthy manner whilst having our wiser older selves to watch over us. Through the book we are given a series of exercises to complete that will finally lead us, when ready, to a number of meditations/visualizations that we can use whenever required. The visualizations and meditations are explained step by step, and they are extremely easy to follow, which makes it less challenging for those that are new to these type of techniques.

I love the fact that Becky Lu Jackson makes us take responsibility for our own healing. It restores our own power rather than placing it outside ourselves. I also love how honest she is about her own journey. Becky is not afraid to show her own fragility and share her most personal experiences in order to give hope to the reader and prove that, as daunting as it may seem, healing from trauma is achievable.

My least favourite chapters are 6 and 11. These are fully dedicated to testimonials. I found them quite difficult to read as they were a carbon copy of each other. I would count these two chapters as part of a self marketing campaign.

I give this book three out of four stars. It is well written and has no grammar or spelling mistakes. The changes in font and layout make it very easy to distinguish when we are moving into the practises. I find this helps to engage the reader.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is starting trauma healing and wish to do it on their own. It gives them very clear tools on “how to”. Meditations and visualizations are easy to follow and practise on your own. Have a beautiful healing journey!
