Review of Fear Not, Dream Big, & Execute
Fear not, Dream Big & Execute is a book that does not only encourage one to dream big but also guides you on how to accomplish your dream. Jeff Meyer explains how the word of God is the foundation to not only finding your dream but also implementing it. The author highlights all the main obstacles we struggle with when it comes to reaching for our dreams and provides ways to overcome each obstacle. He also touches on how fear can become an obstacle that keeps us from reaching our dreams. He leans on scriptures to show how they are sources of encouragement and an example to beat the odds no matter the challenges. The chapters are organised in a way that you can start with whichever one you want without losing context and you can start with the chapter you feel speaks to you the most.
This book feels like you have a coach next to you and guiding you on how to take the next step. I like the fact that the author challenges you to stop after every chapter and actually reflect on what you have read. Not only that, he gives you the opportunity to act on what you have learned and make a change that allows you to move in the direction you want. This is really good because it acknowledges that reading alone is not enough but doing activities and applying the teachings you have learned in order to make positive changes in your life which makes the purpose of this book come alive. I personally enjoyed this book but the chapter that stood out for me the most was "Don't believe everything you think." I am an overthinker and always end up panicking over things that are not always true. The 3D Thoughtfulness belief system proved to be a very useful technique for me especially the decluttering part. It has helped with my way of thinking and choosing what to keep in my mind and letting go of what is negative.
I enjoyed this book very much and did not find any negative aspects to it. It was also very well edited as I did not find any errors. Based on the positive points above, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend this book to anyone trying to find their dream or gave up on their dream or someone who does not know where to start.
