Review of Fear Not, Dream Big, & Execute
Myles Munroe once popularised the concept of the grave being the most wealthy place on earth. He said that many people with dreams and visions died without fulfilling these dreams and visions. Books never written, songs never sung, businesses never built, presidents of nations and world leaders who never rose to prominence are all buried there. One of the major causes of these aborted dreams is fear. Which comes in various forms, such as the fear of failure, the failure of mistakes, self-doubt, etc.
Jeff Meyer teaches us how to dream big and overcome fear in Fear Not, Dream Big, and Execute. It's a book that offers useful guidelines for knowing one's dreams, pursuing them, and then fulfilling them.
It covers various themes, like overcoming fear and self-doubt, and avoiding multitasking to improve focus. The book is divided into two parts: the first part helps the reader come to terms with his dreams, while the second part deals with bringing those dreams to reality. Meyer used a lot of case studies to buttress his points for better understanding. He also created lots of exercises at the end of every chapter to help the reader integrate the concepts into his everyday life.
Fear Not, Dream Big, and Execute is not one of those motivational books with little or no practical relevance. I liked the fact that the reader went straight to the point in the book. Most practical books are like that. There was no beating around the bush in the book. Meyer used easy-to-read sentences, making it simple to assimilate, even for the average reader. The use of exercises at the end of each chapter was a huge plus. This definitely helped in putting the concepts into practice.
In addition, there was nothing I disliked about the book. It was fun, interesting, and educational. Meyer did a great job of making the book so straight-forward and easy to read that understanding the concepts was a breeze. There were no typos as the book was exceptionally edited. Kudos to the author and his team.
I would rate Fear Not, Dream Big, and Execute four out of four stars .This is because of its relevance in helping people overcome fear, pursue their dreams, and ultimately fulfill their dreams.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to do more with their lives. People who are tired and bored with their daily routine. People who want to achieve more. All these categories of people will find the concepts taught in this book very useful.
