Review of A Dream For Peace
A Dream for Peace is a diplomat Ghoulem Berrah’s memoir that gives us a detailed history of his life, the reasons that led the author to establish himself as a fighter for peace, and the difficulties along the way. The book begins with an emotional prologue where the author's friend recalls their story. In the prologue, the reader is introduced to Ghoulem Berrah's values, personal qualities, tolerance, and calm nature. From the first chapter, you will learn about the author's life. He was born in Algeria, during a harsh political and social situation. The rebellious character and patriotic spirit got him into a lot of trouble.
He had gone into a lot for his age, which left a scar on his life. While still a student, the author founded the Association of North African Muslim Students, which was directed against discrimination. He knew well the price of peace. He didn't learn his country's history at school. That is why Ghoulem Berrah dedicated his life to caring for world peace.
The book is informative, inspiring, and written in simple language. The first thing I liked about it was the attached photos that visualized what I read. It also brings stories to life in front of the reader. The whole story left an indelible impression on me. I think the difficult situation in which the author had to be led to developing those rare leadership skills in him, that made him undoubtedly an outstanding diplomat.
It is also worth mentioning that the book deals with a lot of serious problems and shows their solutions from another angle. Such as the decolonization of Africa, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and more. If you are wondering what diplomacy of smiles means and what ways the author suggests resolving conflicts, be sure to read the book carefully.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. There is nothing that I did not like. The book tells in a language understandable about the outstanding life of a distinguished man, which was full of danger, adventure, and the search for peace. The author's life will inspire you to seek peace. In addition to the 17 chapters, the book includes a prologue, an epilogue, and an editor's toast. This book is well edited. I did not find any errors.
I recommend this book for people who love inspirational memoirs and books on similar topics. Also, if you enjoy reading autobiographies of remarkable people, you will love this book.
