How To Be Successful by M. Curtis McCoy is a collection of true stories and interviews, or one can say, major takeaways from the lives of people that inspired the author throughout his lifetime, including the author's family members. The book starts with the personal story of the author, a 27-year-old successful entrepreneur, and owner of many companies, who has defeated brain cancer. The author comes out to be one with very strong willpower and commendable courage. The book contains some very basic and simple concepts that can help in the pursuit of a successful life while bringing out the qualities required in an effective leader.

The book has indeed been well written. The writing style is simple and the author is successful in making it captivating for the readers by maintaining the level of curiosity to learn from successful leaders and famous personalities. The author asks questions to famous personalities and one gets to see different answers and in some cases contrasting reactions to the same questions. This, in my opinion, is helpful for the reader as they can then explore the same question from the viewpoint of different successful individuals and thus they get a more comprehensive answer to the question. You also get to read interesting and inspiring stories about the authors' life in between interviews which were very interesting, to me at least.

The book gets a little monotonous at some points due to the repetition of the same points and the same questions throughout the book. In my humble opinion, shortening of answers where the same point is being repeated could’ve saved the reader from the monotony of going through the same stuff again and again.

The book is exceptionally well-edited and the typos are negligible. No obscene language or sexual content in the book. The book helps enter the mindset of successful personalities. I give the book 3 out of 4 stars. The writing style is simple and easy to understand and the message of the book is loud and clear.

The book goes highly recommended for the people willing to learn from the wisdom and experiences of famous personalities. If you want to change your attitude towards life you should give this book a read. Going through the book in one seating is not recommended though. Take time to absorb the lessons and give thought to how they could be applied in your life. The book is not recommended for individuals who find long replies boring.
