Have you ever wondered what the scriptures said about who God is? Do you want to know about the relationship that exists between God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit? If yes, then, this is the right book for you. In this book, The Lord of Glory, the author, Jacob M. Thompson, using scriptural references, breaks down several mysteries relating to man, the Godhead, and some doctrines most churches practice which contradicts what God says about himself.

Having 47 chapters, this book is divided into 4 parts—the introductory part, which covers how someone can understand who God is. The second part covers Man's creation. In the third part, the author makes us understand the Godhead. The last part brings to light various false teachings being taught about God in the world today.

I enjoyed the writing style of the writer. Jacob's writing style was expository; however, he revealed that he doesn't want to pamper people on what to believe. But, rather, he wants to speak the truth, not minding if people would find it offensive.

There are several other things I liked about this book. The author, when using ambiguous words to express himself, writes the meaning of such words for the reader to understand. It saves time for the reader, and this is what I liked most about this book. Also, I liked how the author added several references to articles from different persons to explain further about a topic he raised. This is seen when he added James W. Knox's explanation of Job 9:32-35. You may want to read this book to discover these arguments.

Similarly, I liked how arguments made by the author in this book were based on the scriptures, except for his assumptions, which he indicated after stating it. Jacob countered most teachings, generally accepted in the world today, using the scriptures.

The author made some statements without satisfying proof, which confused me. For instance, the author assumed that man's body contained water initially, instead of blood. Also, he bluntly attacked some preachers and denominations, condemning them to hell severally. Since this book is to show who God is, and also bring people to repentance, I think he should have done better than this. These are what I disliked most about this book.

The Lord of Glory was a great read, as it exposed me to a lot of things I neglected while reading the scriptures. However, I would have loved to award it a perfect rating, if not for some assumptions he made that confused me. Also, there were numerous errors that I encountered while reading. Consequently, I rate this book 2 out of 4 stars. I would recommend this book to Christians. I must warn, some topics discussed in this book are crucial, and people who hold their doctrines too tight might not enjoy this book.

It is a pity that some statements did not have satisfying proof. Will it help if there were references added to justify the assumptions?
Thanks for the honest review.

Well, the author had some good points, then unfortunately disrupted them with unfounded assumptions. It's true, judgement and condemnation should be left to the Lord of Glory, otherwise it will be chaos down here. Good job on the review!

Your review is meticulous! You did a very good job at highlighting all one has to know about the book, including its negative points. I don't think this book is for me though as it seems to be biased towards Christianity in a religious manner.
People who read are hiders. They hide who they are. People who hide don't always like who they are.

Thanks for your honesty. Religious books aren't my cup of tea, especially those that draw conclusions without concrete proofs. I guess I will skip this.

Thanks for the honest review.
The statements were few. If it were stated explicitly from the scriptures, it would have justified the assumption. Thanks for dropping by.

Yes, the book was really a great one. Except for those assumptions, it would have been perfect.

Not necessarily biased. The book is expository in nature. If only few points made had a strong backing, it would have been a perfect book. Still, every Christian needs this.
