Review by R_hiernaux -- Paradise Rising by PG Shriver
Paradise Rising by PG Shiver is an adventurous novel that tells the story of a girl named Cheater and a boy named Jaz who are gifted with unusual powers. But these extraordinary powers come at a high price. Both are plagued by the demise of the people they love most in their lives, and bad fortune and death seem to follow them around. On their quest to reach a place called Paradise, they must learn to work as a team to gather the 10 other kids known to be gifted with powers while trying to avoid their own demise.
There is not a significant aspect of Paradise Rising that I did not like, and I thought it was flawless from the first chapter to the concluding page. The first few chapters engaged me, and the rest of the book did not disappoint. I cannot wait to discover the rest of the books in the series if they are all as good as this one.
What I liked most about this work by PG Shiver was that it had a delightful blend of humor and action but was not to convoluted to follow. There was just enough humor to prevent the book from being monotone, and it made the book feel more inviting to read. The action scenes will keep you on your toes, and you never know what is about to happen next. I think this book will allow you a seamlessly enjoyable read.
I rate Paradise Rising by PG Shiver 4 out of 4 stars because it was extremely well-edited throughout, and it was an overall excellent novel. I was pleased with the novel, and I think many other people would enjoy reading it as well. The author did a good job putting Paradise Rising, and I would not hesitate to recommend the book to somebody. This book deserves nothing less than an excellent score.
This book would appeal to young adults seeking an eventful and intriguing story, especially those who are fans of stories that involves supernatural gifts or powers. This book would be an exact fit for them. However, I would advise against reading it if you consider novels that deal with these types of supernatural gifts or powers boring. I think that any reader in 7th grade or above would discover this book well-suited for them, and they would have a hard time laying it down.
