Putting the current COVID-19 pandemic into consideration, I'm more than convinced that many of us have a rough idea of what it means to live in fear of an invisible enemy. In The Kings Death by Ed Cannon, an unknown nemesis seems to be working day and night to jeopardize three cities' operations. The cities include Illicia, Aceon, and Salone. Will the enemy in question succeed in their attacks on the cities? Will the three cities take their arms up against the said enemy and triumph over it? Well, you better not think of missing out on all the drama and action that comes with this read. Grab your copy and enjoy!

First and foremost, I must express my admiration and love in the general outlook of the book. Cannon organizes its contents in such a professional manner. He places the events happening in every city in the book, each under their chapter. I loved this because it rules out the confusion that comes with reading through different events in different places, all in the same book section. It is indeed a clear manifestation of his exemplary writing skills, and I must applaud him for that.

I also enjoyed reading the dialogues in the book. They brought more life into the plot and made understanding it an easier task. Through the conversations, I was able to have an interaction with the characters. As a result, I could understand their feelings and thoughts more comprehensively.

I was also delighted not to find any grammatical errors in the book. It doesn't contain any erotic scenes or instances of profanity. It is a conducive read for believers and non-believers as it doesn't vouch for any particular religion.

However, I wouldn't say I liked the high number of characters in the book. I found it both confusing and unwise for Cannon to include so many characters, given the fact that the book is a lengthy read. I had a hard time trying to acquaint myself with the new characters that each new chapter presented. Remembering the past roles of some was also quite an uphill task for me.

I rate it 3 out of 4 stars. It is a brilliant and captivating read that will leave you looking for the next one in the series. Nonetheless, I had to penalize a star because of the dislike mentioned above. I recommend it to fiction enthusiasts.

It is true that the fear of the unknown is man's greatest fear. It's a shame that the characters were too many otherwise, it would have been a perfect book. Kudos to you, Moowshiri.

Yes, right now an invisible enemy can be particularly scary. Despite the excessive amount of characters, this seems an engaging novel. Thank you for your great review!

Thanks for your review! I agree that having too many characters can be confusing in an epic fantasy. By the time you get back to the first character who was introduced, you may have forgotten who they are!

Great review. Despite having so many characters I love the fact that you could be able to get the plot of the story at the end of it all. I also appreciate the fact that the book didn't vouch for any religion. A good read indeed.

Although this review is so precise that it leaves only little to enable one gauge how deeply engaging this book may or may not be. I think the story line is peculiar and it could be a worthy read.

Thank you for an informative review overall!

I love a well organised book. It gives out that appeal and you feel respected as a reader. I am glad you found this aspect positively too.
