Mixed Blessings, is Race real? written by J.M. Muse revolves around a story of racial segregation and discrimination. This takes place in the United States of America and predominantly involves religious leaders and their faithful followers as well as individuals in charge of communication. It includes Pastor Tucker Dalton from the Christian covenant church, who believes and teaches that white people are superior to any other racial species on Earth and that mixed race along with black people are a threat that has to be eliminated; Reverend Rufus Harper from the freedom brigade with a mission of seeking justice whenever he sees racism and others.

Meanwhile, Minister Kublai khan from the house of Jeremiah was the main character who with the assistance of Les Solomon, a veteran demographer and statistician, had understood that race and the US census in America had a big impact on the quality of life and planned to control them by turning the black minorities with limited opportunities into Majority, in order to claim power. Kublai khan got total support from Reverend Hung, the leader of the World Energy Church. Kublai's project was to join his black men followers with the Asian ladies from Hung’s church. In fact, they believed in the supremacy of the one drop rule which considered anyone who has any black ancestry, to be black.

In addition, the story involves crime, injustice as well as love. It features people like Star Mathew, the best of all the contestants in the Gardena cherry blossom beauty pageant, who is denied to be crowned queen, due to her mixed origins; Jeremy who is mistakenly believed to be white and is extremely beaten by two black bangers as well as Ahmed, a member of the house of Jeremiah, who escapes the planned marriages because of his genuine love for Kimberly.

I was most impressed by how the characters in this book are superbly described, which made me feel in full connection with the story since it was about diversity of races. Furthermore, I enjoyed the gift and art of convincing that the different religious leaders possess. I can bet that they are not far, if not better than politicians. In fact, I witnessed in this book how religions can dictate the future of a country and understood why in some part of the world, politicians keep an eye on them. I particularly loved the power of advertising of Gibbons and Italia Company, imagining myself in the shoes of Malcom Gilmore, the chief strategist with his role of providing strategic insights to clients. I felt as if I was watching my favorite action movies when the Christian soldiers from the Christian covenant church attacked the birthing center and I was delighted when Kublai khan and his men managed to protect the babies and their mothers.

The only disappointing part is that when I finished reading this book, I had mixed feelings on how to rate this book as I felt that the story was cut short. Frankly, I expected to know if the birthing center of Kublai khan and reverend Hung succeeded or failed to reach its objective of increasing the numbers of mixed race people. For that reason, I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. I can’t go below the above rating as the book was professionally edited and the few errors that I came across can easily be fixed.

I would recommend this book to any person interested in learning how to fight against racism by discovering the strategies that are used by those who spread it. For readers who enjoy love stories, this book has some bit of them. I would not recommend this book to young readers such as children as they may find it boring. If you are scared of crime stories, you may not as well enjoy some part of the book.

I've been having mixed feeling about downloading this book but, after going through your review, I'll reconsider it. Since I'm in love with crime and action novels but, racism sucks. Thanks for this detailed review.

This book is really complex. I have also felt that the story was cut short, there are a lot of things that I wish I could have known too. But it's indeed an interesting premise. I enjoyed reading your review! Thanks and good job.
