Review by Crystalline crystal -- Peppermint Mocha Murder
Peppermint Mocha Murder, what an interesting name I thought to myself, that was the first thing that caught my interest about this book. Now, after reading this book, I can confidently testify that it's storyline lived up to it's name. The book's story is filled with mystery, suspense and mouth watering coffee recipe that showed detailed love of coffee and you know what they say, "Good ideas start with great coffee." Everything was fine and going smoothly for Molly Brewster who's addiction to the bean is no wonder since her grandfather willed it to her, and ofcourse her undying love for coffee made her more dedicated to her coffee shop. Molly loves her coffee business and she loved the Idea of being a CEO, she definitely loves Snickers her dog whom I could say understands her very well.
She got smitten when the substitute delivery guy who looks very hot showed up at the bean, but this could not lead to something as serious as she had played it in her head because she was already falling head over hills for the handsome Deputy Drew "Lucky" Powell or "Deputy-Lucky-call-me-Drew" as she would always call him. Everything was fine until she found a dead body behind her coffee shop, things got really messy for her when the evidences gathered by the cops were all pointed towards her as the suspect. And now these questions arise; Who killed him? What led to his death? Was it premeditated or an accident? How would she get herself out of the situation she found herself? And if Molly was innocent, then who would frame a coffee loving sweetheart? Now caught up between love and trust will Molly survive? Will she get her life back?
With the mystery surrounding the death of Jim, and no incipient clues as to what happened to him, running out of time to solve the mystery case, the unpredicted truth about the dead body was found.
This book was really jaw dropping for me. It was really easy for me to get imaginary pictures in my head about the characters especially the character telling the story. I like the way the author fused the love of coffee and coffee recipes with the mystery and still maintained the suspense in-between it's facinating, it kept me glued to the book till I finished reading and honestly I was impressed with the conclusion of the book. Well, like I said earlier, Good ideas start with great coffee.
I rate Peppermint Mocha Murder: A Molly Brewster Mystery with Killer Recipes by Pam Moll 4 out of 4 stars, Although I observed a few typographical errors, apart from that the book seems professionally edited. I had an amazing time reading this book and I recommend you go ahead and read this book, it'll be worth your time. If mystery, suspense interests you then this book is for you. A little heads-up,if you do not like coffee, then this book is definitely not for you.
