Review by Ekabajong -- Pivotal Moments
How would you feel if you had almost everything in this world - wealth, success, fame - and then lost it all in a twinkle of an eye?
In Pivotal Moments, author Susanne Birgersdotter shares her experience as an entrepreneur and how unpredictable that career can be. Susanne highlights all the moments in her life that have had a huge impact on her. Those are her pivotal moments. The beginning of the book feels much like a biography as Susanne narrates her childhood experiences through to her young adult life. Susanne talks about her tumultuous relationship with her dad and how her mom was always there for her. By talking about her childhood, she opens up her world to the reader and allows the reader to get a feel for the personality of the person behind the book. She is very candid about the negative impact her tumultuous relationship with her dad had on her and doesn't hold anything back. It feels as though she's opening up to a close friend, and that encourages the reader to get involved in the book on an emotional level. Because of this, the reader is likely to form a kind of connection with the author; you understand her world and the pain she felt.
I must admit that I didn't expect Pivotal Moments to be nearly as entertaining as it actually was. I feel like I'm repeating this but Susanne held nothing back in this book. She spilled it all. This is a woman who dropped out of high school. A woman whose father at one point proclaimed that she would never amount to anything, a woman who went through two divorces and was backstabbed by close friends and relatives. I don't want to spill it all in my review but this book contains the kind of entertaining life drama that makes you gasp in surprise, shake your head, and then keep on reading. The rest of the book describes Susanne's adult life and her struggles as an entrepreneur, mother, and wife. She admits that her life hasn't been a conventional one and talks about the traps of society to fit everyone into a certain mold. She also highlights the pain of lost love and broken relationships, and how it made her stronger. She discusses the joy of motherhood, the pursuit of happiness, and her business struggles. Throughout the book, Susanne gives profound life advice by sharing key insights from her own life journey.
Pivotal Moments is a book full of heartbreak, betrayal, failure, success, lost love, fairy-tales, and everything in between. It contains all the highs and lows of life; it will make you smile, laugh, or even cry depending on the page number you're at. Susanne distills everything she has learned from life and offers it to the reader through candid, entertaining, and powerful storytelling. She certainly knows how to tell the story of her life in a way that captures the attention of the reader and never lets it go. I'd recommend this book to anyone who's looking for the kind of entertainment contained in a novel but also the life lessons that most nonfiction books provide. Susanne also makes it clear that her book is for all entrepreneurs out there who are trying to make their businesses work. She includes everyone who may have plans to start their own business, and most importantly she dedicates the book to everyone who has encountered failure at any point.
Pivotal Moments delivered beyond my expectations and I liked everything about the book. I give Pivotal Moments by Susanne Birgersdotter 4 out of 4 stars. This is because the book was so entertaining yet educational at the same time. I've learned so much from it, especially what it takes to be an entrepreneur. The book was professionally edited as I found only one minor error in it.

You can't imagine how awed I was by her strength. I couldn't go through half of the things she went through. Like you said, a lot can be learned from her strong personality.Standor5865 wrote: ↑13 Jun 2020, 05:26 The initial question is enough to make most people suicidal if they experienced it. The author must a have a strong personality and a lot can be learned from her.

Exactly! What doesn't break you, makes you stronger. Thanks for your comment.Sexy_thickthick_mom wrote: ↑29 Jun 2020, 23:00 I'm lost of words. can you imaging the struggle one lady can go through and still be strong, the life journey of pain, love lost and heart breaks and divorce. that's a really good motivator because instead it breaks her it builds her to make she even stronger.

I really enjoyed the book and I'm fascinated by the author's strength and courage. The best thing in the book was how sincere she is about all ups and downs, the failures and the success she had.
