Grace Revealed by Fred Sievert is a collection of inspiring stories of grace, forgiveness, and healing through the real-life experiences of people and their journeys through crises. The premise of the book is that the Christian experience often goes through three stages: experiencing a crisis, receiving grace from God to rise above it, and then returning grace to those around us.

Coss Marte's story is my favorite. At the age of nineteen, he was a drug kingpin and was worth $2 million. After serving a five-year prison sentence, he started a business called Conbody, a prison-style fitness boot camp that hires formerly incarcerated individuals to teach fitness classes. Coss realized that his drug activities had harmed his customers and their families both physically and emotionally. Now he devotes his time and energy to helping people get healthier. I researched Conbody, and I am currently doing the Conbody workout every day.

I also found the story of Skip Masback very compelling. Mr. Masback’s passion for social justice issues propelled him through law school and then into a lucrative career practicing public-interest law in Washington, DC. Fourteen years into his career as a successful public-interest litigator, he no longer found the work fulfilling. He felt a call to the ministry. That would have taken incredible courage for a successful attorney to make such a life-altering change in mid-life.

I liked the discussion questions at the end of each story. They were very useful to reflect on the lessons learned in each story and how they could be applied to my life personally. It is best to read this book one story at a time and then give yourself time to reflect on what you have read.

Some people find God without a crisis. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour as a child. I grew up in a Christian home. I never did drugs. I didn’t have premarital sex. I never served time in a juvenile detention center. My childhood and teenage years were relatively drama-free. My role model was Marie Osmond. I know God will meet each one of us in a place of crisis and will provide us with His grace and forgiveness. But I also think living the Christian life, being faithful, and remaining close to God for a lifetime demonstrates God's grace just as powerfully as finding God in a crisis.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys inspiring stories of people who found God out of a crisis in their life. I am giving the book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. This book is well written and professionally edited. I didn’t find any errors.

Life lessons through the experiences of different walks of life. I am sure there are many lessons can be learned through these stories as you have already implemented one for yourself. Thanks for the detailed review! :tiphat:

One thing I definitely love in a book is that human touch that many of us have become dissociated with especially in the Christian community. We think a relationship with good should be rigid without a personal connection with Christ and it is that false perception of this way of life that inclines many to fall from grace as they do not think they are perfect or worthy enough to be Christ's "bride". In this book, we see the mysterious way God works, from ex-cons to lucrative lawyers, no one is too far away from that Christ touch. The book, as I derived from the review, can be really spiritually uplifting because though the Bible gives us advice upon advice but no learning experience can be paralleled by experience-based learning, whether it is your experience or someone else's experience. This was a great written review and there was not an error in sight! :techie-studyingbrown:

All of the expression used within this book and even the personal experience of the writer is based in the biblical good explanation of the grace saying:"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed Hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works."(Titus 2:11-14). Yes, when grace is revealed, the evil doer is changed into good doer and completely zealous of good works in his/ her life. This is whtat the writer of this book has personally experienced and sharing it with us here. May all the glory be turned to God in the name of Jesus Christ ! Amen!
