Official Review: Marketing on Fleek by Kobi Ben Meir
Marketing On Fleek: How to Make Your Marketing & Professional Efforts Count In A Customer-Centric World by Kobe Ben Meir is an informative guide for business development through effective marketing strategies. It’s a book that outlines the steps to take in becoming a successful marketer with practice and reliable professional information. Growing up in an Israeli family that encourages exploration of passion and an environment that advocates self-expression, Meir develops passion in software development programs where he learns ".Net" and "C#" programming at an early age.
The 127-page guide is well-written and professionally edited. The book contains ten chapters and traverses themes of work ethic, commitment, and perseverance.
The first chapter, "How an Immigrant Came Across the Land of Opportunities" talks about the author’s biography. This introductory chapter also gives details into the choices made by the author, which propelled him to becoming the successful digital marketer and software developer he is today. The second chapter, "Walking on the Path to Optimal Productivity" talks about having the right mindset and the urge to create a productive environment for business. The subsequent chapters give more insights into the marketing world and the things they entail. This is where Meir highlights the steps to take to get the right customers for a business through channels like video marketing, smart ads, blogging, vlogs, and personalized email content. Meir also attributes the success of top organizations to the use of social media marketing platforms like Facebook posts, Instagram stories, and Twitter for addressing customer complaints.
Meir brings an array of multifarious techniques to this guide when he analyses the importance of B2B marketing (business to business) and B2C marketing (business to consumer). His knowledge of e-commerce marketing is also illustrated with pictures in various parts of the book. I appreciate the author’s adroitness in sharing in detail the process of making a good first impression on a business page. “Site visitors take up to eight seconds to form an impression of a website. That’s how fast you lose paying customers if the homepage leaves too much to the imagination.” I quite agree with this because my business page had a similar problem. After hiring a professional to make a few changes to the homepage, sales and site engagement improved in less than three months.
This is a book every aspiring business owner should possess. The pictures the author used for illustrations are clear, which makes references to the book's text easy. Meir also puts the chapters in chronological order for the easy flow of reading. The author misses some commas, but such occasions are not distracting. The only thing I don't quite like is his late explanation of what B2B and B2C are. He starts mentioning both acronyms from the first chapter but didn’t define them until the tenth chapter.
Overall, the book deserves a 4 out of 4 stars. One doesn’t have to agree with all of Meir’s opinions to take away useful information from this helpful marketing guide. I recommend it to those who wish to help their business gain more clients with effective marketing strategies.
