The Witch of Endor: Vampires by R. R. Wheeler is a very intriguing tale of Lilith. Lilith is a witch, who becomes a vampire at the hands of her mysterious lover, Lamech the original vampire. They conceive a special child during their time together. Through unfortunate circumstances they become separated each thinking the other is forever lost. Lilith then settles in Greece and forms her own new family of vampires along with her special child. Lamech is captured by Maldivar. This person from his past is very angry for the events from their previous meeting. Maldivar is on a quest to destroy all vampires with the aid of an unusual group of creatures. When he comes for Lilith and her coven he finds a fight. It is after this fight that Lilith meets a very unique man that helps to clean and bandage her wounds.

This book was a good mix of many theologies, legends, folklore, and mythologies. This comes as no surprise as Wheeler enjoys studying these types of subjects. It is very descriptive and flows very well even where time frames and story lines are woven together. This book would be enjoyed most by older teens and young adults. These subjects are popular at the moment with these particular groups of people.

I like most that the story portrayed the female main character in a very strong positive light. Even though she was thrown into the role of a single mother to a special child she did not give up. She worked hard and thought very careful about her choices in relation to her child. It was also very descriptive and this made it a joy to envision how the scenery and characters looked.

What I liked the least had to be the ending of the story. It left too many open points on what had happened with certain characters. Such as Lilith's child, was she captured by the creature in the shadows? It also leaves the reader without any answers to the fate of Lamech after his capture by Maldivar. I am sure another installment would clear up the lose ends for these characters. This may already be in the works as well.

I would rate The Witch of Endor: Vampires 3 out of 4 stars. I did not give it 4 stars because there were a few open holes. A few more details may have helped make certain events more clear. I did not give it 2 stars though because it was a very well written and attention grabbing tale. It was very well edited and had no errors in grammar or spelling that I found. It did contain a few mentions of cursing but this depends on your views of the word. It was first mentioned in Chapter 4 on the 11th page in the Kindle version.
