Health tips, myths, and tricks. A physician's advice by Morton E. Tavel, M.D by Brighton Publishing LLC will help readers escape the trapping of unrealistic myths and unscientific claims. Beware of sounding more intelligent after reading this book. The world only offers a myriad of unbridled data that does little for our whole health but Dr. Tavel has meticulously researched and offered the readers practical counsel that empowers people to save while protecting their well-being.

Health tips, myths, and tricks consist of 3 parts: the 1st section is about health and wellness that can and should become your regular life routine. The 2nd part is myths, which are the common errors on everything relating to our physical build and the relationship with the world around us. While the 3rd section is on many of the trickeries used to swindle you and steal your hard earned money while being offered useless and possibly hazardous products by unprincipled people. This book was birthed from Dr. Tavel's research for his previous book entitled "Snake Oil is alive and well. The clash between Myths and Reality. Reflections of a Physician". I love that the author became overly compassionate toward the general public enough to accept the call to write and publish a book to counter the widespread myths and scams that deplete health and suck finances.

I was impressed by the author's nerve, going ahead to mention the actual harmful drugs/supplements, he deserves a round of applause and a standing ovation. This will ensure the readers' full awareness and avoidance of such toxins. It's unbelievable that for a dollar or two one would poison and potentially kill another.

Breakfast remains a key component in a healthy way of life, it is even more advantageous when it is made up of eggs, yogurt, cheese, nuts, etc instead of processed foodstuffs like bacon. I am sure everyone will be happy to know that coffee gets a clean bill of health. But only in moderate consumption.

Wow! It's fantastic to learn that chocolate seems to enhance general cardiovascular health and possibly escalates the blood flow to the brain as noted by Dr. Tavel. However, all is not rosy, since consumption in large quantities without a balanced increase in exercise/activity may result in obesity.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is not hard. According to Dr. Tavel, regular if not consistent intakes of beetroot juice, blueberries, raspberries, a little bit of chocolate, for edible oils use olive oil and permission granted to indulge all varieties of unsalted nuts and you will be on your way to a happier life. Only a small percentage of the entire population realize that diurnal workout has insurmountable benefits. Not only for physical fitness but also for a higher sense of well-being.

Genetically modified foods (GM foods), also known as genetically engineered foods (GE foods), or bioengineered foods are foods formed from organisms that have had alterations introduced into their DNA. Commanding the industry to tag or eradicate GM foods gives a negative idea, signifying that these GM foods in some way are “contaminated." The author states that there is no actual proof that organic foods are more wholesome and beneficial than conventional foods.

The two issues that I found surprising to learn from Dr. Tavel were that, (1)“drinking hard water should be encouraged in preference to soft water, especially if the latter is high in sodium content." (2) “Dr. Tavel simply advises the public to steer clear of this entire concept of “detoxification”.”

Finally, I am glad I picked up this book, the level of malice to unsuspecting victims is shocking. For Dr. Tavel’s courage, I rate Health tips, myths, and tricks. A physician's advice, 4 out of 4 stars. The errors were less than minimal. Am at a loss for words that the principles cited in the Hippocratic Oath seem meaningless. Moral decadence has dropped and the patient (victim) is always at a loss. I recommend this book to everyone with the desire to beware.
