Review for Who told you that you were naked by William E Combs

Who told you that you were naked by William E Combs is a spiritual book that looks at the story of salvation. The author starts by looking at the fall of man in the book of Genesis. Here, he talks about the command that God gave Adam that they should not eat from the tree in the middle of the garden. When the serpent came to Eve, he asks Eve if God really said they should not touch the tree. Are the words that Eve uses the same as the ones God used or did Adam add his own words when giving Eve God's message?

It is from the fall of man that sin entered the world. The next chapter of the book look at how the word sin came to be in the bible and its effects on our lives. It is often said that we are born of sin because we are all descendants of Adam. According to the apostle Paul , sin entered the world when Adam and Eve disobeyed God. Later on in the book of Genesis, Cain kills Abel even after God warned him about sin crouching at the door.

According to William, God already had the plan for our salvation long before the fall of man. That is why the children of Israel were delivered from bondage in Egypt and our Lord Jesus Christ was born from the lineage of David. However, for one to fully get saved, they have to be born again and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. What does being born again mean? Jesus explains this to Nicodemus in the new testament.

This book brings a message of hope, that no matter what our sins are we will always be forgiven by God. We only need to go down on our knees with hope, faith and thanksgiving in our hearts. We should always keep believing in God just like Noah did when he was building the ark. Abraham also believed when he was told by God that he would be the father of many nations.

I like the way the author of who told you that you were naked brings in his personal experiences in order to make the reader have a better understanding of the message he is trying to put across. The book is well edited and does not have too many words which would sometimes make a spiritual book boring.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars and recommend it those who love spiritual books.
