Roadmap to the End of Days by Daniel Friedmann is an intellectual book that uses biblical history to explain our past, our present, and our future. Events that happened in our past and events that are happening in our present can help predict what will happen to our future. What will be our end? This book explores the answer to this question by using and comparing important events that have appeared in the Abrahamic religions and their religious texts. Friedmann predicts the end by taking us through a biblical timeline.

The layout was great. Everything was in chronological order and was clear to read. The sub-headings let the audience know exactly what they’ll be reading about. Short passages help break the chapter up to give the reader pause. If you’re anything like me, then you’ll appreciate these breaks. Grammar is superb throughout; I barely saw any errors. The sentence structure is interesting. The author occasionally asked rhetorical questions to get the audience thinking. I thought this was very suitable for this type of genre.

Friedmann includes an index, a glossary, and a bibliography. This is another example of how well the layout is and how easy it is for the reader to navigate. You can tell that the author is incredibly well researched and this gives the book some form of credibility. He uses diagrams throughout the book to help the reader understand certain time events and other important information. I cannot deny that this is a great book for the right audience.

Personally, I found that parts of this book were a little boring. I occasionally like learning about religion. However, I found that where this is a very scholarly type book, I felt like I was reading a university book. These aren’t usually the books I would choose to read myself. Although this book is fairly short, this is not an easy read. This book will demand your attention and focus as it makes you think hard about religion and hard about life. If you don’t believe in any of the religions mentioned in this book, then you will not give much credibility to much of the predictions, despite the strong case Friedmann makes.

I would recommend this book to those interested in religion and those who enjoy testing their knowledge. I would not recommend this to anyone who dislikes scholarly type books that make you think too hard.

Overall, I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. If I could, I would rate it 3.5 out of 4 stars. I believe this is a well-written and well-researched book. I cannot fault it in grammar and I believe that this is a great book for the right audience. Unfortunately, that audience was not me in this case and so I had to deduct a star (or half a star if I could). If this was a little less scholarly, I would definitely be giving it four.

Yes the book was well researched and obviously boring at times for a common reader specially the timeline thing...that really got on my nerves..by the way you did a good review

The cover was great, I even though that this book is like the maze runner, but I was wrong. It sounds interesting and intimidating book. Great review

Thank you for commenting. I thought the same thing when I saw the cover, the similarity is definitely there.
