Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F. Kristi is a charming tale of the three house cats from Paris that make a move to London. These gang of cats and their neighbors team up to solve mysteries once their loving owners fall asleep. The three main characters include Inca, Clara, and Fromage who live with their mom. Inca is the rowdy group leader with big dreams of being a top cat detective like his best friend Monk. Clara is a prissy pretty cat who loves fashion and looking cute. Lastly, is Fromage the cat that loves to eat cheese like his French name suggest!

This book is a very engaging read, it’s fast paced and there is always cute antics around every corner of the story. Also, the story will leave you in suspense wondering if the cats really have what it takes to save their new-found friend from losing his house, his owner, and his exercise routine. I give this book a 3 out of 4 rating.

The reason why I am giving this book a one-point doc is because the book is fast paced lots of characters are introduced at a rapid rate. At one point in the book, I found myself flipping back to try and remember who all the characters were. In addition, since this is a child book I felt that the pictures of the cats could’ve been made cuter for the kids and have a had some more color. And, lastly, the paragraphs were divided very strangely in the book giving it a choppy feel.

However, I loved the story and enjoyed every second of reading it. The mystery that the cats set out to solve was full of adventure and teamwork. Another thing I enjoyed about reading this book was the character characterization. The way the author described each cat and gave them each unique personality added life to the story and made me relate more with the characters and care more about the storyline.

I would highly recommend this loveable story, the reason being is that it’s well rounded and included all the elements of a good story, I would definitely read it again with my younger siblings. The best age group in my opinion for this story would be children between the ages of 9 and 13 because the story was a longer read than most children’s’ book and had a bit more advanced vocabulary.
