Belle Ami tells us a thrilling love story set in a fast paced dangerous world in her book titled Escape. Cyrus and Layla give us a glimpse into the world of the intelligence community. Their steamy romance in the course of their fight for survival keeps the reader glued to the book.

Layla Wallace, a doctoral student in the US is unintentionally kidnapped from a hotel room in Dubai. Layla against her father's will travels to meet her wealthy Saudi Arabian boyfriend's parents in Dubai. While there, she is kidnapped and taken to Iran. On hearing of his daughter's kidnapping, Dr. Aleck Wallace contacts the Israeli government asking for their help in rescuing and bringing his daughter back home. Back in Iran, Cyrus Hassani,
assistant to the deputy director of Oghab2-Eagle2- the Islamic Republic's nuclear watchdog and most secretive department in the Ministry of Justice
, has been commissioned to keep the girl safe. Her father had bargained an innovative breakthrough in nuclear technology in exchange for his daughter's freedom. Mossad, Israel's secretive intelligence and security agency would give all to see to it she is rescued.

From the moment Cyrus set eyes on the red hair American, he knew she was different. Their escape was never going to be easy especially after the Iranians knew how valuable she was. As the struggle to escape, the chemistry between them grows. She is capable of penetrating the world that separates the Cyrus that
could kill an opponent twenty-five different ways with his bare hands
, from Cyrus the passionate lover. The unpredictable and exciting twist and turn of their escape is only matched by their steamy romance.

I found the novel interesting. It's somewhat controversial stance on nuclear proliferation in the middle east was interesting. I think it's interesting to see how Iran's nuclear program is condemned while nothing is mentioned of Israel's own. I was however moved by the general condemnation of nuclear proliferation. Belle Ami in a methodical way blends steamy romance with fast paced action while shedding light on the dangers of a middle east with nuclear weapons.

On the down side, the book had a couple of grammatical errors though not significant. The narrative also looses steam at the end. The story was in a way predictable.

I rate the book 3 out of 4 stars. This is mainly because of the predictable nature of the end. It is however a good read. I would recommend it for anyone who loves the intriguing action packed world of the military and a little romance. Warning though, the book contains explicit sexual content and would best suit a mature audience
