I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. For The Love Of Suzanne is the book you never knew you needed. While there were a couple of slightly confusing moments, it did not draw away from the beautiful whirlwind of Suzanne and Cody's story.

After the unexpected death of Suzanne's abusive husband, she was mysteriously transported to the New Mexico Territory in 1860. Once there, Suzanne meets Cody Black Fox who is an Indian Agent. Cody is known as a half-breed, descending from a white father and an Indian mother. Knowing that he should not be traveling on a horse with a white woman he chances it anyway because of the need he feels to protect Suzanne. Cody tries to deal with his inner struggle; whether he should follow his honor and turn the white woman, Suzanne, over to Chief Tall Dear or to follow his heart and keep Suzanne, protect her, care for her, and try to get her back to her own time.

After being accused of treason and being locked away, Suzanne struggles to survive the prison she has been thrown mercilessly into. As time passes, Suzanne struggles with the hope that she will every be freed or that she will live through the near starvation, harsh living conditions, and savage beatings. Will Suzanne survive and if she does, how will she make it back to her time?

For The Love Of Suzanne was a truly beautiful story and though this was not my usually choice of genre, I was in no way disappointed. This was honestly a story that I did not know that I needed. Obviously, with it being a time travel story I cannot relate to jumping to another time, but I can relate to starting over and feeling scared, alone, and rejected. The struggle to try to fit in is something I think that we can all relate to and that helps the reader connect to Suzanne on a more personal level.

This was an easy story to follow, and while there was a little confusion, it did not take away from the story or how well it flows together. I think that anyone looking to get lost in a love story or someone who may be looking for some hope would definitely benefit from reading this story and would fall in love with not only the storyline but also the well-written characters. While this is a romance it does not go overboard with the steamy lovemaking scenes but keeps them respectful and more on the conservative side. This is a must read for all of you hopeless romantics.

Good review. The story sounds great and for sure this is my kind of books that I love reading. Love makes the world, without love we can not co-exist whether it is simple plain love or romantic love.
