I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. With a blend of wit, tenderness, and humour, Poppy Mortimer's "28 Catastrophic Dates: A (Mostly True) Humourous Memoir" is a charming and hilarious chronicle of modern dating mishaps. Poppy's adventure, driven by optimism and her wish to meet the ideal man, takes place over the course of 28 dates, some of which are hilariously ridiculous and some of which are almost painful. 
My favourite parts of this book are the lessons at the conclusion of each chapter and the brief synopsis of the lessons she took away at the end. Additionally, I appreciated how the author included trigger warnings at the start of certain chapters, as some readers could find them too eerie. A thorough account of the author's experiences in the erratic world of dating is presented in this engrossing and enjoyable book. 
The chapter titles and 'mostly real' stories created a playful sense of mystery, while the message about following intuition struck a deep chord. Admirable and enlightening were the author's raising of the bar and examination of the risks associated with internet dating. Through the author's dating adventures from her twenties to her thirties, the book chronicles the highs and lows. She's seen everything, from con artists to liars.
Mortimer captivates readers with her romantic mishaps through her incisive observations on the stages of attraction, her deftly told date invitations, and her funny cues. The author's mother's wise counsel and the perceptive link between warning signs from previous dates and current interactions are two of the book's most notable moments.
The editing of the book provides a smooth narrative flow, while some readers may find the dates' intimate information and borderline as well as censored profanities disturbing. The path the author took to find the right spouse for her is explored in this memoir. I would suggest this book to anyone who has trouble dating and is typically the one who fails to recognise warning signs early in the dating process.

I really want to read this because of the captivating tittle. The subject focus on real date experience gives more power and authenticity to the book. Good review.

People who struggle with dates or finding a romantic partner would find the mishaps amusing. They will also learn a lot of lessons and avoid mistakes when they're chasing dates in real life. Since schools are terrible at educating people on the art and science of dating, people who struggle with dates need to read it.
