Review of Reconfigurement
Reconfigurement by E Alan Fleischauer is about rethinking the traditional approach to retirement and encourages people to work, save, invest and somehow answers some number related questions. It explains the need for an approach that provides relevant resources early enough to make a difference all in preparation to meet the new reality head on. It is not just about money management but also covers subjects from reverse mortgages and long term care insurance to Social security, disability protection among other important topics.
The book is very educational and eye-opening. E. Alan Fleischauer shares in detail a wide range of financial planning strategies and also brings a lot of humor to keep the readers entertained. Retirement is different for everyone and everyone reacts differently towards it but we all have to plan for it whether you choose a second career or part time job to stay active. The author also covers a topic on career testing which is captivating and interesting. Alan Fleischauer explains the available insurance schemes which favor retirement. The book is very simple to read and well detailed unlike other financial books which are boring and difficult to understand. The author also encourages people to choose careers they enjoy. It is good to choose something you are good at and you can make enough money doing it.
The author indeed did a lot of research to write this book which is amazing. Although most of the topics and subjects apply for people living in the United States there are a few points which come in handy for people in developing countries and other parts of the world. There are a variety of insurance schemes which people can choose to invest in for retirement and the future to ensure they do not outlive their finances during retirement.
I rate this book four out four stars for the amazing content and life lessons. The book was professionally edited and well written, there were only two or three typos and for that I think it is worth the rating.
I recommend the book to people aged 20 to 50 years because these are the people who can reconfigure their lives with good direction and support. Reconfigurement financial planning is a turning point for the young people to invest and plan for every phase in life, not just planning for retirement. I would also recommend it to people looking for personal development books to read.
