Lemoncella is a book with many themes centered
around a major theme of crime and crime fighting.
The book starts without any clue about what will happen in the pages to follow. From the onset,it is hard to know what the writer is trying to establish which is a good thing and gives a sense of suspense. The book starts with Patrick saving Samantha McLeod .This scene portrays a picture of kidnappings or rape but as events unfold, the reader is not able to place the reason behind the kidnappings.
Lemoncella is a book that tells a story of a girl,Amelia McLeod and how her relationship with Oscar Calander her boyfriend leads to chains of mishaps happening not just to her family but to those involved in one way or another. Amelia eavesdrop on Oscar who is an illegal arms dealer, during one of his exchanges.Oscar and his partners finds out what she did and they want her dead, but she is quick to flee. To cover up his dealings, Oscar sends men to kill Amelia and mistakenly lures her junior sister,Samantha who his men drown but Patrick Carter saves her. Patrick comes into the picture and with the kidnap of Samantha and the involvement of the task force, the family finds out they have become a target of a serious criminal gang.
In the course of this gang trying to kill witnesses, relationships are built among the characters in the book.Patrick falls in love with Emy,a task force agent,Justin, Amelia's brother takes a keen interest in Patrick.Jessica, the grandmother becomes so fond of Patrick.
Therefore the book while focusing on crime and how the task force were able to crack down criminals also establishes the themes of love, family youthful exuberance and how these series of events leads to relationship building among the characters.
Thee book is an interesting one with a good storyline that flows throughout the novel but there were grammatical errors and spelling errors that were not edited. Also the book did not adequately keep tabs on all characters, the writer took long in discussing what other characters were up to like in the case of Amelia and Archie. But generally, it was an enthralling novel with so much twists and turns. It was also suspense fillled with a dose of comedy and i love these things about the book. What I didn't like were the grammatical errors like "I go find him"and so on.I will recommend the book to adults who like watching and reading investigative novels. I rate the book a 3 out of 4.This is so because I would love others to read it and it can't be a four out of four because of the errors. It is also better than a one or two out of four.
