Review of Resonant
In Resonant by Robert Leet, a retired math professor becomes entangled in a dangerous naval plot threatening whales. Despite attempting to solve the mystery with a colleague, he finds it too complicated to handle alone. With the aid of friends specializing in different areas and former employee insights, he uncovers the truth. What he finds is both remarkable and gloomy for the whales. He realizes why the navy wants to conceal it. Faced with looming threats and danger, he must decide what is most important: saving the whales, his friends, himself, or exposing the navy.
This book was visually appealing and enjoyable to read. The simple and clear English, along with appropriate punctuation, resulted in a pleasant reading experience. The font type and size added to the ease of reading. The intriguing story, with its style of a story within a story, was captivating and gave a narrator vibe that many people will enjoy. I was captivated from the start and found it hard to put down, only taking breaks for necessities like chores, meals, and sleep.
This book was thoroughly edited to meet high standards. The points discussed were well-researched and credible. It captures the reader's interest with its mysterious plot, making you want to uncover the secrets and discover what happens next. But, the book may only be fully comprehended by a certain group. Despite the author trying to make it accessible to a broader audience by including multiple disciplines, the effort was not fully successful. I was able to grasp the science but struggled with the mathematics, feeling like I missed an inside joke. For this reason, I will deduct a star. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.
Linguists, biologists, and fans of mystery may find Resonant interesting, but their connection to the story may vary. Those who are intrigued by the book's historical elements, conspiracy, and secrets may enjoy it, even if they find the mathematical components challenging. To fully appreciate Resonant, readers should have an interest in mathematics and physics. Therefore, I recommend this novel to people who love mystery stories and have an understanding of mathematics and physics.
Robert Leet did an excellent job writing this book. He effectively combined science with storytelling, delivering a captivating and educational experience. The book strikes a balance between education and entertainment, making it a pleasurable read. I eagerly anticipate reading more of Robert Leet's work, and I have resolved to expand my knowledge of mathematics.
