Nightlord: Sunset by Garon Whited is a well written fantasy that revolves around a physics teacher named Eric who one day work up with a huge hungover and no memory of how he became a vampire. He tries to cope with the changes while exploring and researching his new physical and mental abilities. Sasha the beauty who turned Eric, did it to have another chance at love as he resembles her late husband, she helps Eric to makes it a smooth transition. Of cause they fall in love.
The fairy tale comes to an end when they are being hunted by a group of religious fanatics and when Sasha is been murdered. Having revenge in mind Eric travels to an alternate medieval world to confront the church of light who murdered Sasha.
In my opinion the real story begins here, it is a wonderful world with all sorts of magical beings. We get to meet dragon, orcs, elves, magicians, wizards, knights, barons, kings and Gods. It is the story of a Nightlord with a pure heart who overcome many obstacles in this path to overturn a corrupted religious institution in order to form a new world where his kind can live in peace. He meets friends, lovers, admires and people who gather around him willing to follow him and fight for him. Together they build a community, a small utopia for them to live in peace.
I rate this book three out of four stars. The book is well edited and there are hardly any mistakes. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fiction that deals with supernatural creatures and magic. Categorizing this as a vampire book is a huge waste as it has much more to offer. It is a fine blend of supernatural phenomena with science fiction. Being teaching his passion Eric tries to gather knowledge and disseminate it. He wants to introduce the concept of university into this medieval world. He understand the demand for a proper educational system and makes it his mission to accomplish it.
The author’s command of language fills our imagination with beauty and mysteries of this new world. I felt like I was a part of the book and wished it did not end. But I am not much happy with the ending of this book. It feels rushed, everything is happening so fast and it’s a chaos. The smooth flow of the story is being distributed and the ending is unfulfilling. I think it can be looked away hence it is not the end of the series and there are more books to come. Further I am longing to know what happened in this world meanwhile.

I didn't realize this book was part of a series--it does sound like much more than a vampire book. Thank you for your take on this installment! :balloon:

I’m a big fan of physics and science. I’ll eventually do this book when it crosses my path.
