Randy Love...at your service by Shay Carter tells the story of a young and attractive man showing vividly how he saw life and his relationships with people especially ladies. It has a rich blend of family, business and romance. The author adequately captures life through the eyes of a young man in his twenties.

The book starts rather tragically with the death of Randy's mother, Marjorie Love and a brief introduction of the Love's family which clearly shows that Heather, his elder sister was an architect while James, his elder brother was a lawyer and they were both very successful in the areas of life that they had chosen.

Randy did temporary jobs for a while before he got a permanent job at stonford building society. He spent most of his free time going out with his friends from Grammar school to drink and talk about their love life.

He later moves to London to start a new job with more benefits, where he then changes his accomodation several times not wanting to put up with people whom he saw as inconveniences. This then makes him loose his deposits each time.

Randy being more attractive than most of his friends had a lot of women falling for his charm. The story climaxes with him meeting Nicky, a junior solicitor in his brother's firm. Nicky is everything that Randy isn't. Being room mates with Nicky made him to see her as overbearing and following the advice of Michael Goddard, his dad's friend he gets her to break up with him.The absence of Nicky in his life and Heather laying some hard truths on him helps change his attitude towards life.

I enjoyed the fact that the story was based on the life of a young man and it depicts the life of most young people. The author's storytelling skill allows the reader to fully visualize the characters in such a way that the reader becomes a part of the story. I consistently found myself loosing track of time and looking forward to reading it to the last word.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars considering the errors. It was well done and felt believable. My favourite part was when he went back to Nicky. This was a good way for the author to end the story. I would be interested in reading more works by Shay Carter in the future. Anyone that enjoys a good book would certainly love this novel.
