It's not very often that I come across a book that leaves me questioning at the end, "Wait, that's it?" I must be completely honest and say that Hello, My Love left me feeling as though I was missing out on a real ending. There were parts of the plot that did not get "wrapped up" and it was disappointing because I was left wondering why these aspects were introduced into the story line in the first place at all.

Situated in the Bay Area, California, Hello, My Love by Evy Journey begins by introducing us to a passionate night of dalliance with Elise and Greg. The sparks between these two are flying all over the place and I found myself rooting for their relationship instantly. The chemistry between these two within the first few chapters is undeniable.

Elise is an up and coming law student while Greg is the CEO of a successful tech company. She is well educated, opinionated, and a beautiful blonde. Greg is your typical playboy; he's rich, handsome, and a ladies' man. It was love at first sight for these two, although it took Elise a little longer to give in than he did. I thought it was endearing how infatuated Greg was with Elise and it was fun to watch him realize he was in love with her. This game of chase and denial was actually my favorite part of the book.

As always, a ladies' man comes with a lot of baggage. Greg's life becomes complicated due to the fact that he's already engaged to be married to another woman while he falls in love with Elise. Of course, this causes a variety of problems and the relationship between Greg and Elise suffers dramatically. Fast forward a few years and we finally see the two are together at last. While everything seems to be going smoothly for once for Elise and Greg, something tragic happens that throws their lives upside down. Elise is hurt in a car accident that leaves us questioning whether her life is in jeopardy because of Greg's jilted former lover or if she is the target for a rival gang in a case she is defending.

I rate Hello, My Love 2 out of 4 stars. There were numerous errors concerning improper use of commas and quotation marks throughout the entire novel that was quite distracting. Despite these grammatical errors, I enjoyed the book immensely in the beginning but sadly, as previously mentioned, the plot itself fizzles into something less than subpar at the end. Even the mystery aspect that Evy Journey tried to throw in regarding Elise's car accident seemed lackluster. The suspense grew but the climax just never came. Additionally, it almost felt as though Greg and Elise were completely different people from who they were from the beginning of the story. I honestly fell out of love with their personalities to the point that I found them frustrating. I believe this book would appeal to those who love reading any kind of romance novels with a twist to the plot. This book would not appeal to those who do not want to be left disappointed in love stories that do not have an apex in the story.

Ah, it's such a shame that this novel fell apart toward the end. I feel like I experienced a small version of what you did simply by reading the review, ironically. It sounded like an interesting story and then fizzled out to where it just didn't sound great at all. I think you inadvertently captured the trajectory of the novel in your review, which is kind of brilliant.

Thanks for the review!

I don't like books with bad endings.Plus, not exactly my type of book. However, I did love your review. Thank you so much for writing this.
