In the book Hello My Love by Evy Journey, Greg meets Elise who is cold at first. Greg is getting married to Lori and backs out of the wedding a day before their wedding. This is after making love to Elise whom he has always been in love with since the first time he saw her. Elise becomes pregnant and turns to her parents for help after she decides not to have an abortion. Greg disappears from her life as he tries to sort his life after Lori ruins his reputation. Elise gives birth to Gregory and after two years of separation Greg persuades Elise to make up with him. He learns he has a son Gregory. Elise and their son moves in with Greg. They announce to have their wedding at Aix en province; a place Greg had gone for holiday after Lori’s saga. Elise gets into an accident and this threatens their planned wedding, as they disagree regularly due to the possibility of Lori’s involvement. They soon overcome all that and have a civil wedding before the big wedding in Aix.
This book was full of twists and turns which made it exciting. The unpredictability of events in this book added an element of suspense to my reading. Examples of such events is Elise deciding not to have an abortion and keeping the baby. Elise parents accepting Greg back after hurting their daughter and allowing them to spend the night in Elise bedroom was amusing.
A great feature of this book was it brought up clearly family values between the Halverson’s and Thompson’s. the Halverson’s are generally kind, warm and welcoming as they keep on hosting family dinner’s inviting even Greg and close friends. Also, hey support Elise and the baby during the time Greg is unavailable and seems to understand every decision their daughter takes. Mrs. Thompson on the other hand is always busy and her children must book an appointment.
The turn out of Lori not being the one behind the accident was a shock and one can not help but pity poor Lori who will have to be jilted twice in her wedding. Greg changing from a playboy after falling in love with Elise was a surprise. Greg becoming a loving husband and father putting his family first before business unlike his father gave the book a happy ending.
I didn’t like the way one had to move back and forth when reading. It took me time before I got the bearing of the story. Also, the main theme of the story is unclear and the title doesn’t make it better. The title doesn’t reflect what the book is about. Also, the book ends suddenly when the story is at the peak leaving the reader with unanswered questions.
I didn’t notice any grammatical errors. Its rich in vocabulary and with great depth in describing events, places and even food which I have appreciated much.
Overall, I think this is an exciting book. I rate this book as 3 out of 4 stars. I had to deduct one star since the theme of the story is unclear. I would recommend this book to mature readers looking for books on relationship, romantic and adventure fiction books.
